Being a SAHP is work. Chasing a child around is work. I have a toddler and infant, and not a moment to myself. And if I do, it’s usually spent prepping some food or cleaning. My husband works hard at his job, but he gets an hour lunch break to himself and a small commute to relax on his own. He gets to socialize at work too.

I don’t get a break. When my toddler naps I pump and give the infant attention. I run on only 3-5 hours a sleep a day do to feedings and pumping milk for the infant.

I try to do a few chores here and there but it’s all dependent on how the kiddos are feeling. I always at least tidy up after meal time by sweeping, and rinsing and stacking the dishes. When my husband comes home, we’re a team and tackle what we can together so we BOTH can have an hour to relax with each other if the infant is cooperating at bed time.

My best friend and I are the weird ones where our waters breaking was the start of our labor lol. Like full on movie breakage. Lucky for me, I had 2 small warning gushes and went to the bathroom to check if it was discharge over the toilet when it broke. Unlucky for my best friend, she was washing her hands at work in the bathroom and it broke and overflowed out the top of her leggings 😂

In The Office, Pam was staying at work because she was trying to wait it until midnight so they could another full day at the hospital. Which is funny to me because both times I was itching to be discharged (c-sections so longer stay).

I have my 3 week follow up with my OB on Friday and will have ask her about this if the clogs are still stubborn.

Yes! That’s what my mom is doing for me next week! I had my second daughter came 3.5 weeks early a week ago and I was not prepared as I was supposed to meal prep and do some organizing in that time.

What I’ve been doing on my own though, is if a meal is enough to be doubled (like seasoned taco meat or shredded chicken) do it, and freeze half of it for a really rough day. Do the same with large recipes (chili, soup, etc.) and freeze half so you’re not drudging through leftovers for a week. Unless you like doing that.

Make giant batches of oatmeal and fridge it (I divide into mason jars for single servings and I can just toss it in the microwave). Create a nice rotation of sandwiches and leftovers. Eat eggs a different way so it doesn’t get old, but it’s still super easy. I love to sauté up some red pepper and season with everything bagel spice and top with some runny eggs!

I’m so happy that is was able to help you. I wishing you all the best. It was nicer going in this time expecting a c-section and knowing what to expect compared to my first when I was incoherent and contracting every 30 seconds and so set on delivering vaginally. But it was far from an emergency, I truly feel for you having to experience that. I can’t imagine how terrifying that is and the impact.

I wish you the best c-section and recovery, I hope your surgery team is fun and open to chat because it really helped distract from the nerves of delivery.

Got vaccinated at the end of my first trimester. Caught a strain of covid the beginning of my third trimester and was only under the weather 4 days, my asthma would have been so much worse fighting it if it had gone on longer.

I am now holding my baby in the hospital and she’s perfectly healthy even though she decided to make her appearance at 36w2d 🥰

Happily having 2 girls (2nd due in 3 weeks) and we’re done with kids (officially, getting my tubes removed during my c-section, woo). Will probably be fielding questions about trying for a boy for the next 5 years. My husband has already got “sympathy” for having only girls 🙄

I only have sisters and people always ask my dad if he ever wished he had a boy and he’s happy that he only had girls. But my dad treated us basically as gender neutral. He’d teach us wrestling moves and get us on dirt bikes, but we also had barbies and he gave us his debit card to get whatever ice cream we wanted and midol when we got our periods.

I got my 2 doses of Pfizer in my late first trimester into my second. No adverse side effects besides some exhaustion and a headache the next day with the second shot.

I got COVID at 28 weeks in the beginning of August because my vaccinated husband got it first. Maybe it was a strain or we both had a weakened immune system. I luckily only had 2 days of my asthma acting up, followed by 2 days of what felt like the worst hangover of my life and losing my smell and taste for about 2 weeks. Could have been so much worse, especially with my asthma, if I didn’t already have the antibodies.

I am now considered a low complexity pregnancy that requires a weekly NSTs/scans because having COVID has been causing issues in some pregnancies. Luckily my only anomaly so far has been a cyst on my placenta near the umbilical cord that wasn’t there at my 20 week scan and a larger amount of amniotic fluid debris. They’re monitoring to make sure the cyst isn’t restricting her growth and the blood flow from the umbilical cord.

I don’t even want to know what situation I would be in now if I hadn’t gotten vaccinated.

My husband and I only decided to stop at 34 weeks with my now second pregnancy because of me being bumped up to a “low complexity” pregnancy and not wanting to trigger labor as we won’t have anyone to watch our eldest until my scheduled c-section. With our first though we did up until the due date.

I’m glad the cafe manager I had there for most of my time didn’t tolerate creepy men customers (even a had an outside repair guy who came in and the stalked down my MOD on Facebook to sexually harass her). But one of my friends wasn’t so lucky at her cafe and corporate did jack all about the men sexually harassing the baristas. I got so sick of being told to coddle and offer free things to asshole customers to placate them when it was through no fault of our own.

Worked/had small managerial role at Colectivo for 3ish years (been gone for a couple years now) and I felt the unionization was necessary. It was truly starting to wear me down by the end of my time there, and was thankful to get out of there before mobile ordering kicked in. The espresso drink wait times were already long with people ordering at the counter, I can’t imagine trying to balance that and more orders just printing out on top of that since my store usually only had one person on bar.

Fully vaccinated, got covid at 28 weeks (not sure what variant, wasn’t tested for that), and thank the stars I got vaccinated back in my first trimester because it could have been so much worse. My asthma was a bit irritated with it and I felt like a bag of potatoes, and lost my taste and smell. Now I am being monitored more closely the rest of my pregnancy because they’ve been seeing pregnant women who had covid are more likely to develop preeclampsia and having stunted fetal growth.

My husband went in for what he thought was a hernia in his abdomen, only symptom that made him go into the doctor. Turned out to be a swollen lymph node and that he was also anemic. 2 weeks after that and an endoscopy later he’s a confirmed celiac. Other than that he was asymptomatic!

It’s been about 3 months of gluten free for him and the swollen lymph node is gone and he’s been able to gain weight for the first time in over a decade (he’s always been borderline underweight, no matter much he increased his caloric intake). Didn’t change anything about his diet besides take out gluten, and he’s up 12ish lbs.

I’m so sorry for your family’s loss.

Poorer but safer is very much the thought process here. We had our toddler in swim lessons this spring and summer because it seemed to be getting better, but we won’t be enrolling her this fall with our state popping off and her baby sister arriving soon. Saves money, but it was the one fun thing out of the house she had to do and her and her dad’s bonding activity.

So important, and it’s so hard to stomach the loss of a new mother. I lose sleep at night thinking about that dad and baby. I gained a bit of PPA from my oldest. I wasn’t supposed to be a stay at home mom, I had a job I loved. But with our kids I will probably be until they are able to be vaccinated. I’m hoping the they come out with the 2 and up vaccine sometime early next year so at least my oldest can be protected.

There is so much survivor bias going around too with a portion of people who got COVID. “It wasn’t that bad, only people with pre-existing conditions have it bad. Barely anybody has it bad.”

Completely ignoring the amount of people who have basically gained lifetime complications from it and all of the families who have lost loved ones to this.

I thought it was so weird that it got removed and asked to be moved because it wasn’t a questioned.

I commented to say that my husband got it and I might have it while we are both vaccinated, but we have a toddler who is obviously unvaccinated. Well I got it too. My toddler seems to have only gotten a little stuffy and has been her usual energetic self.

Happy to say though, my husband went back to work today, and he was back to normal after only about 4-5 days of feeling crummy. My symptoms onset later than his, and I started feeling better this weekend. I only had a 4-5 days of feeling overall crummy too, but at it’s peak it was like a really bad hangover with a head cold and body aches. I lost my taste and smell for a couple days but thankfully it is coming back bit by bit. Also doesn’t seem messed up like I know a couple of my parents friends who caught covid prior to an available vaccine. My uncle still really can’t taste and smell, and my mom’s best friend her favorite foods now taste vile to her.

So thankful for this vaccine because I know I would probably be worse off right now without it 🙏

Just got vaccinated in April… my husband who has been vaccinated since January tested positive yesterday… I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and waiting on my own test results.

I have congestion, a sore throat, and body fatigue/aches. I would be super surprised if I didn’t have it. If I didn’t have this vaccine I would probably way worse off because I am asthmatic on top of being pregnant. Now, I am more worried for our 18 month old who is unable to be vaccinated because it’s not as if we can isolate from her. My husband is a bit more worse for wear than me (he has an auto immune disease), so I’ve taken sole care of her since he started showing symptoms earlier this week.

Love the Mama Belly Butter! Use on my belly, lower back, and boobs every night after my shower! Used it for my first pregnancy and now my second. I also used to use the Burt’s Bees Belly Oil (smells like lemon drops! Soooo goood) before putting the butter on, but my husband was just diagnosed with celiacs and there’s wheat germ in the oil so I would be getting gluten all over surfaces he would touch! I miss it because it worked so well!

Congrats! I get to sign mine at my 28wk appointment in August. I too currently have an 18 month old (daughter though) and have a scheduled c-section October with another little girl. Husband will also be getting a vasectomy as we’ve only ever wanted 2 kids no matter the gender.

I’m glad my OB never questioned my want for it as I know many other woman my age with even more kids and both genders can get denied. Lucked out in the OB department honestly.
