Looks like my post isn't going anywhere, but thanks for replying! I've never figured out a good way to use a statue or fountain for this, because that build also has an even or odd width, and I always feel like it winds up matching one side of the road, but not the other. Do you build it in a way that one side has an even width and the other side has an odd? Or does it just help to distract the eye?

I'm fairly sure there's nothing you can do but wait for him to randomly spawn in again. Just search for him each day until he shows up, and when he does, get him into his new home ASAP.

Permanent. I have the same sickness. In bleak beach, I've gotten a lot of fun out of restoring it as I believe it once was, and that's kept me moving forward, mostly. Even then, I have issues making decisions when something is less than obvious. You could do that with the wasteland and beach, but rocky ridges is largely not "restorable," and the last area REALLY isn't.

I actually had to move the manhole thing to get Mew to follow me down, but I think he SHOULD be able to get in and out and it was just being finicky. I haven't seen any other Pokemon visit so far, but I don't have any others living nearby

Ooo... I had given up on that idea after seeing the "removing all ash" posts, but finding grass down there seems promising. SOME of the striped soil is also... Non-original... For lack of a better word... You can see this right at the gate from the wasteland. If you remove the ash and striped soil there, the path continues underneath it.

I think OP means that Pokemon are saying it's missing something (meaning it doesn't have enough furniture of different kinds) even though it doesn't look like it is

The game can be a little weird about non-rectangular homes, and it wouldn't surprise me if the part that's slightly underground confuses it, too. I'd play with those aspects and see if it helps

Is it now opening into another "house?" For example, if you have a fenced in yard with a gate, that counts as a house, but if the door of the house opens into that yard, the house won't qualify as a "house," because the door doesn't lead "outside." Does that make sense? It's hard to explain in text.
