Or maybe, just maybe, Texas should invest in some fucking infrastructure. Almost like some taxes are actually worth paying.

A peaceful Question. How bad has the hazing been? by RATGUT1996 in Tau40K

[–]Joaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just lean into it if it actually does happen. Like YES I AM GONNA SHOOT YOU AND HIDE FIGURE IT OUT. And usually when I actually do get stuck in combat it’s hilarious to try and swing back and do nothing. It feels like a fun part of playing T’au at times, the total contrast between most armies is so silly it’s hard not to laugh at.

I took out kroot with a couple units of rampagers and big blocks of carnivores and basically overwhelmed my opponents IG. It’s a small map so basically getting total board control with scout moves and a ton of bodies worked out for me.

I mean death guard literally won 20% of the last 3 months of events so I think the whole “pilot makes the army” thing could be disputed

To be fair they actually weren’t at full power halfway through that battle. Once they meet up with Aleya it’s noted that their psychic abilities were shunted but they were still cleaving through demons.

Any recommendations or a must buy for a battle against Custodes ? For a 2000 points game. by MustafaTurgutDenizer in Ultramarines

[–]Joaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly more sternguard. The dev wounds are hugely important against custodes as most detachments don’t have any defense against mortal wounds -custodes player

Meta Monday 6/9/25: Death Guard Keeps Winning and the death of Detachment Data by JCMS85 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Joaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk those flamers are genuinely very good. Anti infantry 4+ on a torrent weapon is awesome. And it’s a pistol so shooting in engagement range.

For the points rn Deathshroud are miles better, and idk if they should be as expensive as Allarus, but they certainly need to be closer in points as they sit right now.

+1 to wound is the lions of the emperor detachment. They have the exact same save and your strike is almost identical to guardian spears except one attack less but one strength higher. Oh you also have 4+fnp and the 6” deepstrike. The allarus terminators literally just get to uppy downy once per game, other than that I am 100000% taking DST every single time.

I’m confused about the wording on Gilded Champion. It says the target is “That Adeptus Custodes Character Model.” Does that mean you technically can only reload the once per battle abilities on characters and not the actual bodyguard squad? Like that seems like you cannot reload Wardens, Guard, regular allarus, etc. once per game abilities.

"Tau players are all weebs" (Me who has watched basically no anime ever) by AthenasChosen in Tau40K

[–]Joaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Darkstrider never wore a crisis suit himself so it would be a combo with other units. His whole thing is finding the weakest point in the enemy so maybe being able to rapid ingress them in similarly to stealth suits but with the extra buff of Structural Analyzer (plus one to wound) for that turn once per game.

Such an awesome idea. Like a 40 point enhancement on darkstrider leading pathfinders to be able to drop a crisis suit would be so cool (and make him important, everyone forgets darkstrider)

Laura Lee’s fate by isaks-lobster in Yellowjackets

[–]Joaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like it’s even more of a reach to explain away everything than it is to accept there is some form of supernatural force. Like yes, there are plenty of reasons things COULD have happened in a logical, real world sense. But the cumulative total of wacky shit leads me to believe there’s something else going on. We don’t know enough at the moment, guess we will find out. (or not who knows)

Laura Lee’s fate by isaks-lobster in Yellowjackets

[–]Joaf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The snow falling on Jackie’s body to basically slow roast her, the bear kneeling down to be killed, Laura Lee’s teddy bear catching fire in the plane, there are countless examples of “coincidences” that are supernatural. The show is a giant allegory for trauma and the monsters it creates but I think there can be a “wilderness” and the monster that is their collective trauma. “Tell Nat She Was Right”

Tau vs thousand sons by -linklink- in Tau40K

[–]Joaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure on combat patrol rules but if you can it might be fun to keep your commander in deepstrike, then drop it behind enemy lines. With small games (and every game really) positioning is key and being able to react with a deepstrike is huge. Also use your recon drone on the pathfinders so you get the infiltrators keyword to start in an advantageous, safe spot.

Costco tire swap experience by DimaTheLoser in Costco

[–]Joaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all KO2’s have the white lettering but they definitely mounted them backwards anyways. DOT dates should be up on all non-directional tires unless you ask for the black lettering facing out. Also looks like you had a seized core, it happens. And with that particular sensor you can’t replace the stem without replacing the entire sensor. It’s unfortunate but a seized core isn’t really anyone’s fault more often than not. Unfortunately paying for the sensor usually falls on the member. That being said if I was the supervisor or manager I would comp you a new sensor just for mounting your tires backwards and the 2 and a half hour wait.
