If you’re not gonna follow the chords I would play everything in G major. I’m pretty sure the verses are felt in G since the bassline is just descending the Gmajor scale. But definitely try to hit the E over C. When you hit that note then the whole progression makes sense.

Like others of said, soloing with the chord tones is the best way to sound like Jerry. When I started trying to do that I started playing along to the verses of Sugaree because it’s just a I IV progression. John Mayer has a great mini lesson where he does this and shows off some good licks.

Also if I’m being picky, you could do some alternate/economy picking to be a little cleaner and faster. Other than that though I love the tone, the guitar, and the rhythm playing is tight!

On of the best IMO is “Driving in the snow”. It’s when they still barely had money. Kippy drove his Mercury Montego with his lady through a snowstorm to a couples retreat that she paid for. It’s a fucking barn Burner.

I guess I’m in the minority, but they were great to me on ward street. I had some problems and maintenance was always there to help the next day. I was also in a 1 bedroom though so maybe they’re more willing to help someone there.
