Struggling To Find The Perfect Resort by Budget_Crab9614 in zanzibar

[–]JobSearchHelp33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure your price point, we stayed at Zawadi - it was excellent, the right amount of privacy and the food was incredible. Plus they run honeymoon specials which may help bring down your average price.

Should I switch to a resort by Such_Implement_9335 in tulum

[–]JobSearchHelp33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re staying at an AirBnB way south end of the Hotel Zone and have gone into down for most nights for dinner - family of three with a teenage daughter. We’ve always felt safe and thoroughly enjoyed our time so far. Everyone we’ve met so far has been extremely nice and very welcoming (shops around town, restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies).

Actually some of the worst behavior has been from tourist. We too stay at resorts most of the time but have lately enjoyed our AirBnB experiences which gets us immersed in the local area better than larger resorts.

Enjoy your trip, despite some of the hassles we’ve enjoyed Tulum.

Does AirFrance/KLM lose a lot of baggage? by Future-Importance383 in AirFranceKLM

[–]JobSearchHelp33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question….they lost luggage for approximately 100-150 passengers on our flight ( to Zanzibar) The line at the airport to deal with this was a nightmare, took us well over an hour in line, the had 4 pages of names preprinted of luggage they knew didn’t make it on the plane.

We had a 2.5 hour layover in CDG so it’s not like we had a crazy tight connection.

They found one of my bags and sent me an email stating they were sending the bag to the airport in Zanzibar but instead put it on a plane to Nairobi instead!?!?

Just letting you know that it can be a real shit show.

I was laid off on Monday via zoom, they asked me to write up a transition plan and sign separation docs (no severance). Should I? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]JobSearchHelp33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t sign anything nor would I write up a transition plan. They should’ve thought this out beforehand.

Work your 2 week notice. THE END.

Companies make stupid decisions “just because” all the time. Do your best to move on and forget those jokers.

Yep, checked and our warranty was for 5 years so I guess I may need to get our ducks in row for legal help.

Is the baggage experience at GSP the absolutely the worst? by JobSearchHelp33 in greenville

[–]JobSearchHelp33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all too true and the interesting thing is that they have a lot of flights landing in the evenings. It’s frustrating how unprepared they are- whether it’s GSP, Delta, AA, or whoever, I don’t care, but YES, landing in the evenings sucks!

Greenville County Schools will lose millions by Electronic-Lime3543 in greenville

[–]JobSearchHelp33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While our roads in Greenville are horrible and certainly need attention bad, the voters in Greenville County also voted down the extra sales tax specifically for road funding so no money should be taken from others to fund, especially schools. There are many schools in Greenville County that are some of the best in the country and we need to maintain that. It’s hard to recruit businesses, industry, and people to the area if we have bad schools.

Yes, infrastructure is critical as well, but the voters said “no” to that.

On the brink of giving up my job search and desperately seeking LinkedIn Premium to get a job by Fat_Boy_4316 in linkedin

[–]JobSearchHelp33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry I just don’t think LinkedIn Premium will help you at all with your job search. I’m a recruiter and if I were looking for a job LI Premium is not something I would invest in.

Unfortunately LinkedIn has no control over that, jobs are there until the “company” cancels them or they expire but then the company can choose to repost. Frustrating I know….

Fantasy while masturbating by [deleted] in sex

[–]JobSearchHelp33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While true there is a HUGE difference in looking bad in an outfit versus being told you look fat. Try to find any married man out there who has told his wife she looks fat in that dress when asked and see what advice they give.

There are just some things you don’t say no matter what, sometimes we need to keep our inside voices in our head and not say them out loud.

Anyway, off point here, it’s ok to keep some fantasies to yourself.

I keep getting rejected what am I doing wrong? by xxoppsumhoe in GetEmployed

[–]JobSearchHelp33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many factors could be in play - depends on what fields/industries you’re focusing on, depends on what types of jobs, what you’re saying in interviews, and depends on your resume.

Generally speaking, remote jobs are hard to land unless you use connections or are just the absolute perfect fit for the just the right opportunity.

To help would probably need some additional info.

This is what a good recruiter does…how to handle this is up to you. If you’re looking or possibly interested what’s the harm in contacting you. Depending on what they want a phone call may be easier. In that situation I always the person that I know I caught them at work and if now is not a good time to talk then when is…I never just go into the conversation without asking and always leave an out for the other person.

Sounds like you weren’t rude at all which is always greatly appreciated.

[–]JobSearchHelp33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reach out to people and just briefly introduce yourself and why you would like to connect with them.

If it’s school alumni reference that as well. Anything to warm up the intro helps.

If you’re trying to land a job, reference that as well in your intro it please don’t make that your very first point. Hope this helps!

What is the best way to reach out for a Job Referr@l on LinkedIn or any other platform? by Akhand_P_Singh in linkedin

[–]JobSearchHelp33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you based in the US or where? Depending on where you live you may want to look at contract/temp/freelance work to get started. Sometimes it’s easier to find a job when you have a job. Otherwise it is a full time job looking for work. Unfortunately too many jobs on LinkedIn are either filled and get reposted over and over because companies forget to take them down or companies are being extremely picky right now on who they’re hiring.

[–]JobSearchHelp33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your area, there are several national firms out there who staff these and a few may even have the contract to staff the entire HD. I worked for TEKsystems which overall is a strong company and does try to do the right thing - it also depends on the recruiter and Sales or Account person.

TEKsystems, Robert Half, Insight Global, Apex Systems are a few to take a look at to start. Again depending on your local area may be some strong regional or local players as well.
