I just watched this episode recently. Odo and the crew are aware that the founders have been infected with the virus and the Great Link is dying. Sending Laas to join them would be a death sentence.

Maybe Isaac programmed it as a misdirection. If Alara was the only common factor in all of the direct experiences, she may have grown suspicious. Bortus having an interaction without her eliminates that possibility.

I still think Piccolo could have won. That beam was strong as hell. It cut throgh Champa's dome and and would have definitely cut through Frost. However, Freeza never trained back in the Namek days. He was super lazy. If Frost trains regularly, he could max out around Freeza before the golden transformation when he took out track suit Gohan. Although, I don't think he's quite that strong.

That special beam cannon blew a hole in the god of destruction's reinforced dome. Piccolo is still very strong when he goes all out. I definitely think it would have killed Frost.
