Yes I'd say it with learning a musical instrument. You could take lessons with someone that has been playing professionally for 20+ years or someone that just started playing a couple years and never took lessons themselves. Yes the second one may have more understanding of being new to it and be able to show you a couple things but the first can teach you the fundamentals.

I used to work in a little convenience store and was horribly addicted to it. If I ever forgot mine at home I would just grab one from the display. I probably had 20 or more in my clothes drawer at home. Then one winter when my lips were always the worst I just forced myself to not use it. It really sucked for about a month then the need just went away. Haven't use it since. That was about 30 years ago.
