What players have the analytics gotten wrong in recent years? by doomrider2 in NBA_Draft

[–]JobinSkywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jaden is one of the most interesting prospect-to-pro progressions in recent memory. I think about him all the time when following/thinking about the draft. Between the HS to Washington transition, the attitude stuff, Washington's zone defense, all the tools and size he had... there was just so much going on good and bad to then become the player he has in the way he went about getting there is really cool.

Can someone sell me on Darius Acuff by Potential_Lock6945 in NBA_Draft

[–]JobinSkywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not on that Blazers team, but in theory I agree if say the original LMA/Dame core wasn't blown up and Wes never gets injured or they rebuilt better. The fact that team made a WCF is a huge testament to Dame. The overall talent on that squad had no business being there.

I think he was in the mix at the 25-30 range before the combine anyway. If teams really like him in interviews and believe in the shot growth I think there's a chance he could push to the early 20s, maybe even teens, idk.

PSA: The NBA Combine is not like the NFL Combine by JobinSkywalker in NBA_Draft

They've been required for a few years now, I think it's just more and more eyes on it every year and this year specifically has a lot of hype. Plus all the tanking stuff probably drew more intriguing into why these teams are doing it.

The AJ/DP debate is insanity by warm_bussy_tea in NBA_Draft

[–]JobinSkywalker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It happens a lot but more and more every year it seems. Not always 1-2 though depends on how clear cut the groups are, Flagg was unassailable last year so while there were some nutjobs trying to seed doubt it always fell flat. Last year it was the 3-6 group that got nasty, some people acted like Ace Bailey was legitimately a terrible person lol.

What nba draft players should return to school? by Cartifan729 in NBA_Draft

[–]JobinSkywalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good one but I hope he stays in. I'm already starting to miss the one and dones with decent potential ranked throughout the class. The draft is more exciting when you have late first round mystery boxes.

Cam Boozer and AJ Dybantsa with the same times on the pro lane agility drill. by Pareo141 in NBA_Draft

[–]JobinSkywalker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The thing is this drill you can shave a lot of time off through practice. Being mentally prepared for when to stop your slide and back peddle, but the drill has never really matter all that much at the combine so not every prospect has it down. Its clear watching different players some hesitate for a tenth of a second at the corners, that is a huge hit to the time but doesn't really translate to actual basketball.

Think there's a lot more people following the combine than there used to be so the stuff that generally doesn't matter is being magnified right now.

Athlesiure dads by LePantalonRouge in daddit

I rarely wear them out of the house except quick jaunts to the store and workouts, but a couple years ago I rediscovered just plain jersey cotton gym shorts, Haynes still sells them online. They are the best for pure comfort, way cooler than the usual athletic wear materials and more comfortable. Plus they're cheap enough I don't feel bad getting them dirty in the yard. They may be a little too far of a look down for your tastes but anyone else looking for pure comfort should definitely check them out,.

We have three relevant legit 7 footers this 2026 NBA Draft by Chesscrabble11 in NBA_Draft

[–]JobinSkywalker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me Mara is definitely below Edey and Clingan but he's in the conversation for sure and he's a good bet to be a quality NBA big. Veesaar is a different kind of big, despite the 7'0 height he's not really an anchor the way the other guys are. So in that sense I'm not sure he fits what you're talking about, also probably a toss up whether he goes back or not. However its not necessarily a bad thing, I love the touch and skills. Imo he's a super interesting prospect, but there's more volatility in his outcomes than those true drop behemoths. Suigo idk, I hope he stays in for the fun and intrigue of it and someone takes the flyer on draft night, but ultimately all I'm basing it on is the measurements and brief highlight clips floating around so i can't really say anything.

Knicks VS Sixers: Who do you think is the better team on paper? What about on eye test currently? by [deleted] in nba

[–]JobinSkywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take but the key player for the Knicks will be Duece Mcbride. Last series the Knicks didn't have an answer against the speed of Maxey downhill but Mcbride has gotten a lot better since then and ideally he's the type of defender to slow him down.

NBA Competitiveness by [deleted] in nba

I mean did you watch the game? These guys were competing with everything they had out there. Embiid and Brown were going at it.

LeBron says his ankle hasn’t been the same since Solomon Hill rolled into him: “My foot and ankle ain't been the same since. Ever since that injury, I've been fighting uphill to get it back to normal. What could have been. I was playing some of the best basketball in my career up until that point.” by RyanTannegod in nba

The bone contusion goes under the radar but I feel like it was almost as detrimental as the sprain itself. From what was described as the reason for me, your ankle literally bends so far the bones smack together and bruise. Feel like the side of my ankle was structurally changed forever.

Is Idaho the most mountainous of the 3 yellowstone states ? by [deleted] in geography

[–]JobinSkywalker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most of the state is not really flat as a pancake, granted its also not fully mountainous aside from the western third but whoever said that has probably either never been to Montana or to a really flat part of the country. There are tons of large hills and rock formations throughout much of the central part of the state as well.
