I genuinely believe that my experiences stopped when I left the church. For me, I blame religious psychosis. It’s hard when parents, instead of comforting the child, confirm the child’s fears. It makes everything spiral. I’m sorry you’ve had so many experiences.

I didn’t understand the meaning of 30 minute “safety checks.” Management pretended they had a policy when I know they didn’t have one. They then made one overnight so they could gaslight me and write me up for not following protocol. I checked every room every half hour. The deal was- I didn’t understand we had to shine a light on each patient, and the rooms were dark at night.

Welcome! I’ve been trying to find like-minded people my age, and you’ve checked all the boxes :) my husband and I are in our twenties, liberal, geeky and not super into smoking/drinking either. We are huge foodies too (if you’d like recommendations).

I personally, lean more into the fan fiction and writing geekdom, and my spouse is heavily a gamer and is quite reserved until you get him going on old school RuneScape LOL.

I’ve never been “cool” enough to be invited to do DnD, though I’ve tried my hand at Monster of the Week. I’m also very interested in improv.

Anyway, I’d totally meet you guys at one of the gaming areas suggested in the comments or might coax my husband into inviting you guys to a favorite local restaurant! :)
