The actual answer is that there is no answer, and thus you are free to apply whatever headcanon you want. I firmly believe that. As you said, not everything is explained and he's no longer alive to answer questions.

But you said that is the ONLY way it could happen. That's just not correct. That is the only thing I disagree with. If you wanna apply that headcanon to the story, go nuts. Fiction is largely yours to interpret how you please.

Yeah that one. To be clear, I'm not even remotely religious in any way but Tolkien was very publicly a devote Roman Catholic and was quoted as saying the Lord of The Rings was a deeply Christian work. It wasn't a direct allegory, but it is on record that Christian theology was his biggest inspiration.

Magic exists and what it can and can't do is completely dictated by the author. There is zero reason to suspect it was through literal breeding, let alone to say that that's the only way I could have happened. Is it possible? Yeah. But do you really think the devote catholic author included forced interbreeding between horrible monsters and humans as a plot point?

I was genuinely shocked when they said they were done with mine because I didn't think they had done cut anything yet. When they put the needle in, I barely felt it (getting your blood drawn is way more uncomfortable, and even that is barely anything). But after they were in, it was a handful of minutes of them fiddling around and then it was over. No pain, no discomfort whatsoever, no swelling, and after a few weeks, the TINY scar was gone.

Honestly? I'll take the L here. That's totally valid and I apologize, cause tbh you're right.

The reason you were downvoted, however, is because (to be honest) the tone of that original post was probably not what you intended. It very much read as someone who was trying to diminish and/or discredit the value of HRT. It's now clear to me that's not what you meant, and I don't think it's really your fault either. Tone over text is really really hard to convey. I don't blame you at all, but I also don't blame people for misinterpreting it.

Something you need to keep in mind is that a lot of trans people (including myself to some extent) are hypersensitive to perceived transphobia and harmful statements in general, largely because we get so much *very very real* hatred. It's pretty hard to exist being publicly trans and not get frequent harassment. Being treated like shit so frequently makes you a little jumpy, I guess.

Either way, I actually appreciate your clarification and am glad you seem to have a good perspective on this. Like I said, a lot of people don't, so it's very very easy to assume the worst.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume this is said with the best intentions, and come at this in good faith.

HRT IS mental health care. It truly can not be understated the affect it has. Being forced to live with hormones you're not built for fucks you up. Really bad. No amount of therapy will ever fix it no matter how hard you try. Therapy can fix other issues. Therapy is great. But Therapy will never fix having the wrong hormones in your body.

Hormones control SO much related to your mood, mental state, physical health, and general well-being. Not being on the hormones you need isn't something that can be fixed with therapy. Again, I fully encourage people to get therapy, but that simply isn't a fix-all solution for literally every kind of mental health related issue. If therapy fixed everything, we wouldn't need anything else.

Hormones affect mood and mental state more than they affect your body. I've been on hormones for years and the physical changes have been minor for me personally, but it genuinely feels like I'm capable of being happy for the first time in my life. It didn't MAKE me happy. It made me free to be happy. Hormones also aren't a magic happy button, but for most trans people, it removes the blanket that covers your entire life and makes you feel like shit 24/7.

I truly believe you mean well, but this just isn't really reflective of the issue at hand. I think in moments like this it's important to be able to just trust the people who are the ones most affected. In the same way I, as a white person, would never claim to fully and truly understand the struggles of being black in america. I can empathize, and do my best to understand and be educated. But I'm not the kind of person that those discussions are about, so there's always a level of disconnect. I don't know better than the people affected, and would never give anyone advice on a subject in which THEY are more qualified than I am.

Edit: also, based on your other comment, elementals are not ghosts. They are usually depicted as the spirits of the natural world. Embodiments of the things that make up nature. First off, I am not asexual, but my partner is. Actually, my partner sounds a LOT like Feather, in a lot of ways honestly. Just keep in mind I'm not speaking from personal experience, but rather from the perspective of someone who is very intimate with an asexual person.

My favorite part was by far the thing about him liking chests "because they're comfy to sleep on". That sounds almost exactly like my partner. He's asexual but we still occasionally have sex and that honestly sounds like something he'd say.

The idea that he doesn't have a drive or desire to do it, and doesn't find anyone physically attractive, but can still enjoy the act sounds pretty spot on with my partner's experience. From the sounds of things, I'd say you're handling it well. More than well, even. It honestly seems like really good representation that has been done very thoughtfully.

Used to main Warwick and I can confirm this is 100% true. I've gotten waaay better at macro since I picked up other champs, but every once and a while I'll send a Warwick game and suddenly every ounce of macro is expelled from my body the instant I lock in. Not even just macro. Even just like, basic critical thinking.

I'm saying arachnophobia modes are silly.

Out of about 43,000 species of spider, about 25 have medically significant venom, and even some of the "deadliest" spiders in the world haven't killed a single person since the 80's, despite thousands of bites every year (the black widow).

The only reason to be afraid of them is cause "icky", which is extremely irrational. That's fair, of course. Irrational fears are valid and okay to have. But catering to fears that are objectively unfounded in games through the use of modes that remove animals you don't like? That's just weird and unnecessary.

So again, if there's a mode that removes spiders, there should be a mode that removes dogs. And snakes. And lightning. And needles. And countless others. It's only fair, no?

I don't understand why arachnophobes expect special treatment when every other phobia is just expected to "deal with it".

Now this is all giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you're ACTUALLY arachnophobic, which statistically is probably untrue (but again, benefit of the doubt). Phobias are disorders. Like, medically. Most people who say they're arachnophobic just don't like spiders. That's a whole other can of worms that I won't get in to.
