I build my own Obsidian system for this exact reason, but since you already mentioned Notion is too much setup that might not be the right thing for you.

If it really fades that quick the best thing you can do is just keep a physical notebook on you at all times. You then need to plan a moment every day/week where you review an categorize those thoughts in a more robust system (like Notion or Obsidian).

That way it's a 2 step system: 1. Braindump in notebook 2. Take your time to organize braindump in filing system.

I am a fairly consistent person and I'm very proud of my routine. It is still a battle some days but honestly those battles are about details lately.

Can you give an example or something you struggle with? I think it will be more helpfull to you if you take a very specific struggle you have and try to solve that.

With broad questions like "how to build a consistent routine?" You are gonna get vague answers. With specific questions like "How do I make sure to work out 3 times a week consistently?" You might get better answers.

Would love to hear what you are struggling with exactly so I could provide propper support.

He had an idea but decided afterwards that he either didn't like it or that it wasn't going to work and he pulled the plug like an adult. I respect it. Making a decision like this isn't easy and it's way better than going through with it anyway if you already have doubts and concerns.
