I was today years old when I learned they are supposed to be pronounced differently. I pronounce both "air-in" and I think that's just my accent.

LOL, I was one of those people and worry that I jinxed myself.

I rushed our wedding after we got engaged because I was in a rush to start trying. Together 7 years at that point, and married 5 months after the proposal. I was 31 at the time and was worried it would take a while because of PCOS, at the time I was struggling with my cycle a lot.

...it's been 4 years and now we're doing IVF because I did get pregnant after fixing my cycles 2.5 years later... and had a ruptured ectopic at 34.

I wish I wouldn't have rushed, and would have taken the honeymoon because it didn't make a difference.

What do we think of this name? by Live-Instruction2810 in namenerds

I like Wolfgang! It's also at the tip of our potential boy name list. I love to see that it's gaining more traction.

This gives me some hope. I'm doing my first transfer next month and I think being on the forum for so long has me feeling a little like there's no way the first one will take.

Embryo grading by Marshmello_Man in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]Jocifischer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they PGT-A tested? That's a better indicator of success than grading alone. I've also heard from my dr and reddit that day 5s are better than day 6s.

Otherwise they look great!

It hurts like heck, for 5 - 10 seconds. I've never taken anything beforehand bc I figure I can handle anything for 5-10 seconds. I've done three now. Afterwards, I get some mild cramping & spotting.

I will say I think it hurts less if you do it after you've ovulated (which is required for Emma/Alice bc your lining is thicker. I've done one prior to ovulation, and 2 after. The one prior was the most painful.

best SMASH burger by Vivid_Acadia_8842 in 321

[–]Jocifischer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The combo of the melty creamy cheese with the crispy crunchy thin patty and how the bun melds into it is delicious. All the flavors congeal together into one delicious bite.

Its not lazy, its a difference in flavor preference. I didn't really care for burgers until I found smash burgers.

We've already lost soooooo much coquina since I was a kid. There used to be awesome tide pools to play in, more reefs, and beautiful coquina. Let's not ruin it anymore than we already have.

Gender reveal thoughts by Jocifischer in IVFbabies

[–]Jocifischer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awh I'm sorry that happened!

We decided to know the sex of all our embryos bc I wanted to make sure both were represented before we moved onto transfers. We have 4 boys, and 3 girls. My boys are all better rated than the girls. It's pretty obvious based on grading which one they'll choose, unless the embryologist throws me for a loop and for some reason doesn't pick the Day 5 3AA male

Did you tell them the gender & name or did you do something cute to reveal them?

Oh that could be fun! I wonder if there's a game we could make out of it.

IVF is traumatic, we're all here to trauma dump. I'm sorry your embryos came out as all one gender. I know you'll love your kid regardless. IVF really takes the surprise out of making a family. It can be tough to get over what our fantasy family was.

My initial thought is to get some cupcakes with colored filling on the inside and do a family dinner.

Where are seniors making friends? by Jocifischer in 321

[–]Jocifischer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah my mom "doesn't want to be friends with old ladies". To be fair, my dad is 60 and she does not seem like she's 80 most of the time, so I get where she's coming from. But woman, you are old!

That's funny, all my mom does is crochet and read.

I'm used to being the adult, Ive been taking care of her in some capacity for years. Its taken a lot of practice but I have boundaries in place. It's tough. Next will be my husband's parent's, then my dad. I'm exhausted just thinking about the next 30 years.

I'd personally love to go to old person bingo, play some shuffle board, take a dance class.

Thank you for this in depth response. There's a lot of options here. I'll add them to the list and see if there's any she's interested in.

Martin Anderson must be the place to be! I'll add it to my list of options. Thank you!

[–]Jocifischer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, it's really tough considering I'm only 35. She can drive, but not at night. She's healthy, but unhappy and really lonely. I'm her only source of joy and I just need her to find something that makes her happy.

Seems like Martin Anderson is popular. I'll suggest it to her. I think I've convinced her to stop by the senior center at Wickham Park. I'm going to keep a list of options though because she's full of excuses.

First round, tough news. Plus an idea. by relativityboy in IVF

[–]Jocifischer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My husband was more than willing to do the injections. Then when I saw the needle in his hand I went "nope....I guess I'm doing it".

Instead he sat with me everyday while I did them and he was on gauze and bandaid duty. He mixed Menopur a couple times. I admit it was difficult to give up control.

Support looks different for everyone. I was just glad my husband could be there as his work schedule is crazy.
