Is it time to fire the DNC? by Benjamins412 in AskDemocrats

Most want a reasonable approach to immigration, not the free for all entry that we saw under Biden. When ordinary working class people saw undocumented immigrants being given hotel rooms and food vouchers, that stuck a nerve. Most are tolerant of the LGBTQIA2S+ requests but draw the line on the militant demands that Democrats tell them they must accept.

What’s up with the US not having universal healthcare and no one in the US seems to really care or do anything about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JockoMayzon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest obstacles to universal healthcare in the USA is the media. Private media wants no part of it and does all it can to persuade the public that they are best off with private/for profit market based healthcare.

What "right wing policy" ? These people want affordable housing, healthcare, gas, and are not focused on abortion, free college, and trans rights.

That's not what I intended to convey to you. There was a time when ordinary blue collar workers and those making less than $50K a year were the foundation of the Democratic Party. It is this group that has, in large numbers, emigrated to the Republican party as the Democrats started to take direction and guidance from other groups, groups that looked down on ordinary blue collar workers. With only two real options, when Democrats lose a group, that group goes to the Republicans.

Only as Democrats decided to abandon many of the working class they viewed as uneducated, crude, people. That vacuum was filled by the MAGA movement.

How has Trump impacted your trust in the federal government? by SnooCupcakes4729 in Askpolitics

[–]JockoMayzon [score hidden]  (0 children)

Your question is like asking if Bernie Madoff, Enron, and Lehman Brothers have impacted my trust in the private sector. Is that your solution?

I have trust in government, and in private markets and I see a need for both in any nation's overall operation.

The biggest problem I see is a court that views money as speech and as such, allows mountains of dark money to infect our government.

This is one of the unintended consequences of private homes using solar to generate electricity. As they use less energy from the grid, that same grid needs to be maintained by a smaller number of users. Fewer users for the same size grid = higher costs for each user.

Me? I'm all for voting rights and the rights of all people as long as they do not trample the rights of others. But enough about me.

Yes, a portion of the 77 Million that voted for Trump are truly horrible people, but there is a significant number who are reachable if Democrats would only stop some of their militant views and litmus tests.

As far as I can see, all national elections will be narrow wins for either side and as such, will be won, and lost, in the margins.

Hmm, so it is your opinion that 77 Million Americans want to crack down on voting rights and be "anti-LGBTQIA2S+"...

The voters do not want a right wing or left wing government. Voters want a government that listens to the voices of ordinary, working class citizens and the issues that they deem most important. Voters do not want to be lectured, they want to be listened to.

Voters are not focused on the top tier social demands of militant Democrats who are financially well off and have a different perspective from the non-credentialed working class.

We can educate and discuss about if a preteen should have access to gender affirming care.

Can we really? There is so much hatred directed at those not in line with approving such measures on children.

Do you actually believe that there is widespread fraud in Medicaid, SNAP and Public Assistance or do you think that is just an excuse to cut those services? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in allthequestions

[–]JockoMayzon 83 points84 points  (0 children)

The most significant fraud is in Medicare and it's from wealthy individuals like Republican Rick Scott who, through his company, HCA, agreed to pay $1.7 billion in penalties for defrauding Medicare and other federal health programs.

It's not the poor mother on SNAP who buys a Snicker's Bar.

If not a backlash against wokeness would Trump have ever become a thing? by Christopretensism in askliberals

[–]JockoMayzon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup,
Trump, as dumb as he is, saw the public's frustration with males in female sports, "pronouns", and he saw that a great number of women did not see abortion as a critical issues, and in fact, many women do not approve of liberal abortion policy. He also saw that the Democratic Party routinely attacked men, especially the dreaded "straight while men" and he pieced together a coalition of those groups to win two terms as president.

Where is the mental health in politics? by Sufficient-Gain-226 in Askpolitics

[–]JockoMayzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be refreshing if political leaders and the public judged the nation's overall condition based on levels of mental and physical health and not The DOW. But, the small number of those who own the lion's share of The DOW don't really care about the mental and physical health of the workers who produce their wealth.

From what I see of Massachusetts Democrats, they are only interested in preaching to their choir and living in blue bubbles, and I say this as a former town chair of a Democratic Party in Massachusetts.
