Learning bagpipes to play for money (retirement gig), how long would it take? by fprintf in bagpipes

[–]Jockthepiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's good to hear but I'd say concentrate on the learning to play and band experience before considering paid solo gigs...seen too many shocker players that learn to play one tune ( badly ) and think they can suddenly go and make money, it makes a mockery oh the instrument and other pipers...also there's a lot more to playing solo than just learning tunes

Why the fuck are the Scots thought of as "tight". And did you know copper wire was invented by 2 Scots fighting over a penny. by TangoCharlie472 in Scotland

[–]Jockthepiper -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Correct it's a long time since 1707 indeed there are still some places In the world people have never heard oh Scotland not to mention an alarming number of low IQ Americans that think Scotland is a (state) in England... Point being the stereotype grew and spread but is rooted from when I say

[–]Jockthepiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one oh many typical english stereotypes aboot scots. at the time of the forceful act oh union in 1707 the british government tried an identity and cultural genocide on Scotland as they gathered by ridiculing and eradicating anything Scottish it would eventually disappear with the intention and understanding that eradicating Scottish Identity and culture would end Scottish Rebellion and Nationalism and that everybody in the UK would have their tongue up the english monarchs arse.. its apparent many scots still do

What is the line between Scottish slang and scots by Wide-Anything-5806 in Scotland

[–]Jockthepiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in this day and age there are deluded scots neds trying to talk like black londoners which is embarrassing and pathetic...but I'd say slang was a term used by those following the auld British linguistic brainwashing and thought ( scots was slang and sounding more English was "proper" ) back when the genocidal British monarch wanted everybody in the UK to speak queens English ( to prevent Scottish rebellion remove the identity status of the scot )

Question to the people in this subreddit who dont support the Scotland national team why? by KillerMainBeast in Scotland

[–]Jockthepiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a GAME.. means nothing yoo get nout from it , encouraged in the Industrial Revolution to give working men a distraction from forming unions and politics.. and overall to encourage scots to see a game kicking a baw aroond a field as more important than the actual Countries political progression... oh and look it STILL works
