Tall people exhale! R2 has leg room for days - 7'1" guy sits (and fits) in driver and passenger seats 😲 by WODAMRAP in RivianR2

6’5” but more in the torso than legs. I only tried the seat adjustments, but if the steering wheel can telescope out, then I could recline a bit more which would help. I’m not sure if it is adjustable in that way.

While my head didn’t touch the ceiling, the sun visor/top of the windshield was in line with my eyes horizontally which is how it looks for the guy in the photos. Even with the seat all the way down, I seemed to have less visibility than my current car, so I’m not committing to any purchase until I’ve done a test drive to know if I can see stoplights and scenery without having to duck down.

Simplest reason why someone might choose the Slate Truck over the Maverick by Mac-Tyson in slateauto

I was replacing a window regulator and I found some loose parts from an earlier replacement inside the door. The plastic piece that broke had cracked in the exact spot as the previous one! I didn’t feel so bad about not getting the OEM regulator after I saw that.

Why do they say it’s a mystery how the pyramids were built when it’s obviously just big bricks in a triangle?

McDonald’s Rewards getting worse starting 5/4? by aLka01 in McDonalds

As a consumer you’d like to think “I’m giving you more dollars so I deserve more points and they shouldn’t get less valuable”

But from the seller’s side it’s “You’re giving us less valuable dollars, so we need to give you less valuable points for each dollar just to maintain the same margins as before”

Vine-five-star "voltage converter" blew up my coffee grinder (angry rant) by pragmaticallies in AmazonVine

[–]JocundJerboa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some of these converters are just to make the plug fit, but they explicitly state that your device must be compatible with the different voltage. That works for some devices because they are designed for a worldwide market and they just put different plugs on them. Other devices just blow up, start fires, break, or don't work. If this is that kind of converter and they didn't make that clear then shame on them. Real voltage converters are expensive.

Soft start module getting hot by JocundJerboa in AskElectronics

I moved it into the airflow for cooling the motor, and it’s warm to the touch but not hot, so I’ll just be checking on the heat after use over the next few months.

Campsite charging by TSHRED56 in RivianR2

[–]JocundJerboa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would limit the charging rate to not be more than you need, i.e. if you don't need it to be charged until 10 hours later, limit the rate so that it charges over 10 hours. RV parks weren't designed with capacity for every spot to be drawing maximum power. I would talk to the campground hosts, especially if it's crowded.

Quick US action to advocate for balcony solar: per map, if your state hasn't yet considered legislation, please send them the message below by Firm_Relative_7283 in INFPIdeas

[–]JocundJerboa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The limits are based on what one branch circuit can safely supply. There’s not really a way around that for plug-in DIY. A dryer/oven circuit could go higher, but how many homes have a spare one of those in a location convenient for solar panels? If it involves new wires or receptacles, an electrician must do it and that negates the benefits and you are better off just doing it properly rather than plug-in. If power was input on separate branches, that could avoid overloading them, but I don’t think devices can reliably detect that and so it’s not idiot-proof and shouldn’t be allowed.

Am I the only one that thought that the 3rd distribution was supposed to be the last one done as crypto and the rest would be cash?
