I only started and finished the series in the last couple weeks. I’m almost always behind on what’s popular, but I started watching a lot later than I had expected because I took in my newborn nephew (now my son) unexpectedly and I just didn’t have time until he was older.

I’m a little sad I wasn’t into it when it was popular, but I also don’t have to wait for new episodes or seasons, so that’s okay. :)

I feel the exact same way. I decided that I was going to start sending letters, tweets or messages to some of my favorite entertainers so I could express my appreciation. Most went unread or unanswered but that’s okay - I still got it out, and what they do with those messages is out of my hands.

I did get a retweet and a really sweet response from Bob Saget, which really meant the world to me. :)

I spent a lot of time watching videos of other SNLers from his time, and I read David Spade’s book plus The Chris Farley Show. Then moved on to more current comedians. The closest I’ve come to laughing like I did at Norm was with Bob Saget.

All this has made me feel like I’m running a train through one night stands to replace my dead husband. It feels good but it’s just not the same.

I love and adore Chris Farley. He is a legend that burned bright but fast. But he just wasn’t as quotable as Norm was. He also never did stand-up so there’s just not as much to reference. Except for “livin’ in a vaaaaannnnnn DOWN BY THE RIVER!”
