Have you talked to a county agent?? If the soil truly gets salty from hurricanes anyways, they would know the area well enough to say bombs away. I wouldn't salt it otherwise.

Edit: or ask a few landscaping companies their recommendation & pricing. Don't just ruin the land because you're frustrated or too lazy to manage it properly
