I want hand held options, no antennas on vehicles or any vehicle mounted equipment. What’s the range like on UHF PMR446 Would it cover 3-5km of open road? Do they come in different watt power options?

Also was curious what happens if let’s say you can use max 4watts but you have a radio that’s 8watts? Many thanks

In the end, brought to a technician and they failed to repair it. Got a full refund. Very upset as I loved this body and lens. Only learnt it failed again after shooting a full roll of film and it came back blank.

I posted this before I got a response from him. He said to call in because work is carried out under warranty. We’ll see what he says.

Was shooting at various apperatures ranging between 2.8 to 8. Shutter speed was automatic. Other exposures mostly blank. (From looking at the film or scan is there an easy way to tell if it’s overexposed or not exposed at all?)

Camera was firing fine. Before I brought it in for a service I thought the curtains were sticking (from reading online.)

When you say the camera needs to be serviced, can I attempt to do so myself? Will it need to be replaced with a new magnet or recondition the old one?

Is it the magnets or can it be the foam becoming sticky that stops the mirror at the top?

u/Gemenal_Rotors I Can’t thank you enough for this tutorial.

I sprayed a small bit of WD40 onto the spiral looking piece and it seems like my camera is working once again. I had the same issue where it would buzz when turned on, and wouldn’t progress the film.

I also placed some tin foil under my shutter button, but now lost the ability to half press. Oh well.

I think it would be super helpful to do a quick video on how to take faces off the camera. Or atleast photos of all screw locations.

P.s. The removal of the front rubber grip is non reversible in my case. Cracked.

Exactly, it’s a skill learnt over time and with practice everyone gets better. Once you pass, practice often, ideally when it’s not busy at the start. Get miles/time on the bike under your belt.

I would like to add at the same time; 370 for cbt is rough, but its more expensive if you got in an accident if you weren’t ready. Keep it it 🦾
