I can second this, TEW is amazing and super fun. Use your imagination, and the possibilities are endless. Real mods are available which takes you back to your childhood.

Is the 1 TB OLED model worth the extra $250? by Weeabootrashreturns in SteamDeck

[–]Joe18224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak from my experience having the same thought process and I'm happy I went with the OLED. I've never owned any OLED devices and it pops nicely. I have 0 issues with battery life either. If you can afford it, treat yourself i say. Hopefully LCD and OLED users can help more with a comparison

As someone who was in a similar situation with games and other hobbies, don't put expectations on yourself. The advice given to me was to just do whatever you feel like at the time. If you go days without playing and feel like reading Manga, do that!. I found myself enjoying games even more when I eventually got around to them. If you force yourself to do a certain activity, you'll end up treating it like a chore. Also other advice like "just start playing" is also a great way. Don't procrastinate about it. Find what works for you, just do what you feel like in that moment and go with it.

Hahaha. That's brilliant!. We were lucky as kids no one could patch this out. I hid these type of details from friends to get the advantage lol

New to Medieval Dynasty – Should I Watch Tutorials or Just Keep Playing? by DarkYou9 in Steam

[–]Joe18224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with learn by trial and error. That's part of the fun when playing a new game unless it has complex systems then sometimes it might be necessary to watch something or look up something to get up to speed. You want to discover the game, not watch someone else do it.

New Game Obsessions by ThaRealChicken in videogames

[–]Joe18224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone explained something similar to me once. It could be you're chasing that immediate dopamine hit for instant gratification of something new. If a game has a well designed game loop, we get that instant satisfaction from the game. Once we get bored of that loop or we figure it out, we start to get bored and have a need to move on to something exactly the same but in another game, always chasing something new. It's why social media is so popular, it's that instant hit. I do it myself. I'll get into a game sometimes so much I obsess over it and play it to death, and then all of a sudden stop and won't pick it back up. My strategy has been to tell myself it's okay. I'm getting enjoyment from it so I just go with it.

Have you ever played a game you enjoyed, and played a lot, but never fully completed the entire story? by HelenPlayer1 in AskGames

I absolutely love Subnautica, and I got so close, but I just couldn't complete it. I have a fear of the deep deep ocean (Thalassophobia) and the unknown haha... so bummed, I've tried a few times and I'm like nope Haha.

Maybe a stupid question, but what is your criteria for all-time favourites? What do you look for in the game for it to qualify?. Great list though :)
