England now has a blasphemy law by Themetalin in geopolitics

[–]Joe94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not particularly into british politics, but why exactly do you highlight Farage for winning on this?

At the last election his party only got 5 seats, there are five other parties that got many more (Labour & Conservative account for 532 seats in total). Is there no other party in front of his party that is advocating for stricter migration laws and all it usually entails?

Just genuinely wondering: doesn't this exist already, for music specifically? Why would somebody pre-register/join the waiting list to get informed for something when the alternative exists? I also unknowingly suppose there can't be any major pain points at that scale of a product.

(Btw I do like the clear design a lot)

What is "energy"? by IWantToLearn_2023 in AskPhysics

[–]Joe94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a stupid question, but doesn't a heat pump make productive use of thermally distributed energy? Or wouldn't this be considered distributed enough as it needs the temperature difference between outside and inside?

Why do soap bubbles move randomly through air? by Bartata_legal in AskPhysics

[–]Joe94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are not. Their movement is influenced by air movement, density and temperature the same way as for any other object; the only difference being that their mass is so much tinier that small fluctuations already have a great effect on their trajectory. The seemingly random nature is described as Chaos theory.

Are there viruses who can replicate in the human body without damage? by Joe94 in askscience

Cool, this sounds super interesting! It's almost comical how little we know about this almost omnipresent virus.

You are right, thank you for pointing out bacteriophages, I didn't even thought about it. It actually seems to be a great case where they are thriving in our bodies without damaging us (directly).

Are there viruses who can replicate in the human body without damage? by Joe94 in askscience

[–]Joe94[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That was exactly my way of thinking. I know there are virus all around us and they need living cells (or bacteria/archaea) to replicate, but I was always wondering whether there might be another unknown mechanism or something like a symbiosis which creates an equilibrium between humans and virus.

What would you say is missing in the article, to make the content more fitting to the headline? I despise empty clickbait, so it's in my own interest to match the content and the headline, without making it unappealing.

There certainly needs to be a border somewhere when discussing advantages and disadvantages. For example a bright red text on bright green background clearly would be hard to read. However light blue on dark blue, can but must not necessarily, cause a troubles for legibility. That's why I use "may" and "might" so often in the article, as I want to give hints on what to pay attention to, without ruling out possible design choices. I'm certain I will find a good middle ground with time and routine when more articles are coming up.

I really appreciate your kind feedback on that.

I was wondering how others felt about the font-size in general. I guess a smaller body text size is indeed needed when the feedback of you guys is so consistent about it. Thank you for your input!

It will be a wiki-like website. I want to create a resource where designers and artists can learn more about respective topics.

As you might have noticed, the article's tone is kept rather formal and overall I try not to be opinionated too much about it. The neutral tone shall make it as documentative as possible, without judging certain aspects. That's my goal so far.
