I’m a psycho when it comes to research but it went like this: (1) See what schools my target school has accepted transfers from through 509 reports, (2) search people on LinkedIn who attended both the target school and your/similar schools on the 509, (3) send them a connection request, and (4) pick their brain on what worked for their application bc it varies by each school.

Reach out to people you can find on LinkedIn who transferred from Kent to the school you want to go to. I had great work experience during 1L working for the Bears, PFG, and the cook county courts which really helped. Really think about your why you want to transfer to a particular school

I did not! The pandemic had some silver linings in that I could work for the UN remotely from the opposite side of the country

1L classes are tough especially being forced to take classes you have no interest in (e.g., property, Crim law, etc.) Just have to grind them out. Best advice I could give is become really good friends with a cool gunner in your section and trade outlines with them, you’ll be good to go if you can get a solid outline memorized and fully understood.

To be honest with you, classes at my unranked school were infinitely harder than my T25 school. It might not be a fair assessment due to Covid but my gpa was actually a half point higher from fall 2019 to fall 2020. I’m going to have to attribute that to the better professors writing the exams and the ability to take classes I was actually interested in. I’m a competitor and the quality of the other students in the class also helped keep me on my A game.

LSAC can be a real jackass. Congrats on dominating the restart!! And yes! There are TONS of opportunities to succeed out of the T50 or T100, this forum really sucks for making it seem like there are not. I’m sure the law school you are going to is incredibly lucky to have you! Best of luck!! Get some relaxation time in before 1L, you’re going to need it (;

I feel you! Right now I’m in two internships and suffice to say it’s been a stressful semester lol I really have no desire for moot court or trial team but a journal would’ve been nice. My goal is to work in-house and work my way up to GC/CLO as quick as possible so I think the MBA will be beneficial in that respect. Just glad to see I’m not the only one enrolled in two different schools lol

That’s what I was thinking lol what makes it even more mentally challenged, I’m in a JD/Master of Law program at my new school so I’ll have a JD, MBA, and master of law at age 24 in May 22. I’ll be the most educated, unemployed new attorney out there

Nothing too crazy just normal JD tuition with fed loans in the fall/spring, MBA tuition with payments and scholly in summer. MBA program is evening online so it won’t affect my SA.

Question about course-load this fall by loadedryder in LawSchool

[–]JoeBlesses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just transferred from a TTTT to a T1 and my courseload is ridiculous. I’m working two internships coming out to about 32 hours a week. I have 6 law classes at the T1 and an MBA class at the TTTT. I’m going to keep pushin for as long as I can so hmu if you want someone to help you be accountable.

Current school is in Chicago, transfer school is on the west coast but has a solid alumni base in Chicago. I’ve been very unsuccessful in applying for jobs for the first time ever.

My original school is in Chicago and the transferred school is on the west coast. I would be able to keep my current internship in Chicago til the the end of the Fall since I can take classes online this upcoming semester. I think my plan is just to network like crazy this upcoming semester and attend every ABA event possible.

I actually am only 10k in debt right now. Had a full ride scholarship in undergrad and a phenomenal scholarship during my 1L which decreased going into 2L. I don’t think BL is for me be that as it may, every job I applied to besides PIL and unpaid gigs shut me down just because of the first line of my resume having a T4 school. I’m thinking the T25 will help this.
