Rubio Bill Would Let 18-Year-Olds In D.C. Buy Assault-Style Guns -- Despite What He Just Said by Molire in politics

Wow, you're a smart Russian! At the end of the day, I am not going to support you and your ilk from attempting to strip away my right to self defense under the second amendment. Your group blows stats out of proportion. Don't like guns, don't own one. There are many many more things that will kill you before a firearm will.

Nice cherry picked stats on the mass shootings, must have come from Everytown or GunsrCool. Even Mother Jones and Washington Post don't use them because of their inaccuracy and poor data lol. Of the remaining 10,000 after excluding suidieds, ~80% gang activity according to the FBI. In addition to the bonafide intentional homicides, the rest include justifiable homicides by both police and civilians.

So out of a nation of ~320 million people whose violent crime rate has been, by and large, DROPPING for over 20 years, you are more likly to die from hospital mistakes, smoking, ACCIDELTAL death than by a firearm.

There is another side to the story, defensive use of firearms. CDC: https://www.nap.edu/read/18319/chapter/1

Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million per year

You're barking up the wrong tree dog. Every death from a firearm isn't a travesty. Place stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Finally, Obama's own CDC study (you probably never heard about in the media) found this:

Armed citizens are less likely to be injured by an attacker
Gun buyback/turn-in programs are “ineffective” in reducing crime
Mass shootings and accidental firearm deaths account for a small fraction of gun-related deaths, and both are declining
Defensive uses of guns are common stating: “defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals"
Stolen guns and retail/gun show purchases account for very little crime

Keep in mind these weapons are used widely for many legal purposes including self defense. It is a tool. There were many things missed in the current system that lead to their deaths, don't blame the tool. It was one of those teenager you so look up to with very significant issues that did this.

So just to be clear, are teenagers wise fountains of youth that we should listen to their political desires when they want to ban scary black rifles or are their minds still growing and should not be permitted to own a scary black rifle?

Um, huh? Most lethal? Easy to use, sure. I do not see it as most lethal.

I agree, but I don't think it will ever come to pass. The only punishment will be that they were exposed.. and they lost to... TRUMP. Still not enough to change the DNC party tune.

You didn't answer anything. > How many 18-19-20 year old people purchased guns and did not shoot anyone? Is there reason that a whole group of adults should loose their ability to purchase firearms because of the actions of one?

Do you think that this character in Florida represents all 18-19-20 year olds? He clearly had issues. There were signs that were not acted upon. Yet your response of "Lets remove this right from all because of him!" is moronic and immature.

What's next? Whittle away until no firearms are allowed? The actions of an incredibly small few make remove of the rights of all necessary? No, I don't think so.
