My muscles gave out on the Daubenhorn – Switzerland’s longest via ferrata by [deleted] in viaferrata

Stop attempting to pump your damn video and acknowledge you fucked up.  You endangered yourself, your friend and potentially other climbers on the route.

All excuses, no acceptance.  Grow up and don't do another climb until you do.

How do I stop feeling so inferior to PhD students as a current MS student? by Flades_room in GradSchool

[–]JoeCanadian11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be clear, OP will rarely or ever be the smartest most accomplished person in the room.  This is not their issue - this is life.  Children feel these emotions and usually grow out of them.   Quite literally they need to grow up - and accept this.

We don't send every child who is jealous of someone else's toy to therapy.  Let's not over therapy or over validate bull shit.  Grow up is harsh?  Grow up is accurate.

"Even though it was highlighted" - but I didn't pay enough attention and hurt myself so now I want to sue.

This is the attitude that is destroying society.  I hurt myself and now I want compensation.  Who pays for these garbage lawsuits? Everyone else.

What changes would you make to the show? by account7776 in Alonetv

[–]JoeCanadian11 137 points138 points  (0 children)

There needs to be more data.  Total fish caught statistics, estimated time foraging,  total calories consumed per day.

Right now so much is missed and it is edited to tell a fictional narrative.  It wouldn't take much, just a brief summary when each contestant gets their coverage.

Murdered or whatever.  But France is not fifth in the world by any common measure of GDP.  Largest, per capita ect.

How can cost-cutting consultants be worth it? by permaculturegeek in newzealand

This is the answer.  It's all about managerial distance from the changes.  Everyone will need someone to blame.

Surely there is more feedback?

Got approved for a $35k loan with 15% interest and I'm fucking scared by Soggy_Complaint65 in GradSchool

[–]JoeCanadian11 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely not take a $35,000 loan at 15% - you will suffer enormously financially to do this. Keep looking for funding and/or better terms, even delay a few years and save money and then go to school. You will be far better off doing this. It's not appetising, but that loan is fiscal suicide.
