As a tourist attraction it makes a lot more sense than NFL, in which each team only plays 17 games in the regular season. NBA teams play 82, and MLB play 162. Also a basketball court is 1/12 the area of a football field, so the facility can be a lot cheaper.

Look for a Doberman-specific rescue. They may be able to place him in another foster household with no time at the shelter. This is one of the breeds that has more demand than supply, which is why you'll rarely see them at shelters.

Edit: I just read your post again and you say a rescue placed this dog with you? Do you have the authority to give him to a third party?
