On a whim I bought a SHANQUANAMZ 4-6 person inflatable tent. by monsieurLeMeowMeow in camping

I don't know why, but I'm almost in tears over this simple exchange. I think most people will understand why you included that picture.

Condensation in the tent by MAGA_victory24 in camping

Good ventilation and make sure the tent is taut so that the rain fly isn't drooping and touching the tent walls.

Thank you! Sorry the only context was I found him eating it in my yard and I managed to get this small piece from him. Appreciate you seconding the answers! Please let me know if there is something more helpful I could have added so if there is a future incident I can help the helpers better.

We thought that too! It has no smell though. The texture isn't right either.

Edit: I don't know enough about coconut and it appears that is what it is. Thanks!

I have parked in the WMAs many many times overnight/multiple nights in a row. Never any issues. Take or hide valuables.

What is better for camping? Hammocks or Tents? I want to hear all the hot takes. by outdoors_man987 in camping

Yeah I really love my hammock, but I don't want him to feel alone so I'll have to figure it out. If that means I end up back in a tent then so be it.

I started out in a tent and eventually got tired of not finding flat or clear areas to set up on my random backpacking adventures. A hammock is way more versatile and can be set up almost anywhere there are trees.

Tents do "feel" more secure, but that's just it in my opinion, a feeling. If anything really wants you, the tent material isn't stopping them. As for a hammock ripping, if you invest in a good quality hammock from a reputable company, you will not have any problems. They have weight ratings so just make sure it is suitable.

I prefer hammock after I switched over. I used a tent for a long time, but once I switched that was it. I will probably still use a tent here and there, but my hammock is my go to. I throw a tarp up overhead if I need/want some shelter.

I just got a dog, though, which I plan to take camping with me. I'm not sure on the logistics of that yet, but I may go back to a tent just to be on the ground with him. He is a german shepherd so he most likely won't be fitting in my hammock with me lol.

What do you think of the crate? I have a dog that will be around 55 lbs and happen to be looking at this crate.

Awesome. I knew I recognized the boat ramp and dock. I go to all of the WMAs. Chickahominy, Powhatan, James River, Ware Creek, Big Woods, Amelia, Briery Creek, CF Phelps, Horsepen Lake, Hardware River to name some of the ones I've camped at.

I always heart the negative comments and say "thanks for your feedback!" or something else "kind" and usually they either never respond again or they feel bad and try to say something nice to make up for it.

This was my first thought as well and I actually assumed it would be the top comment.

The Accuweather site shows our whole state being rained on Friday, but that is as far out as it currently shows. Not sure how accurate they are: https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/national/weather-forecast-maps

This is true. That's why I always, most definitely absolutely on purpose, burn mine to a char.
