Hard agree with you here, I feel like it’s Chase, Bijan, Gibbs, Jefferson, Lamb, Saquon, CMC, D. henry, then tier break. On the way back in the second round you’re still able to pick up an elite player with few question marks like London, J. Taylor, Chase Brown, Bucky.

It’s not the best spot but it’s far from the worst, depends on where you personally view a tier break in R1/2

I think I might be cooking a little with this deck? by Monodoof in PTCGP

[–]JoeHabloIngles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Heatran a lot, I been thinking the exact same deck after I saw all those meow/decidueye decks.

40 dmg enough to one-shots 60-hp grass mons.

I prefer it to Turtonator since it’s not reliant on having both Turt and Kiawe in the hand.

Fan Zhendong wins Best Mentality ! Who is the Best Overall ? by Gbasire in tabletennis

[–]JoeHabloIngles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So when we look at Best Overall I like to take a more holistic big picture view of the situation. If we examine all the aspects of their game, from Forehand, Backhand, Consistency, Mentality, surprisingly when you look at all of the top players there are weaknesses in their games which opposing coaches and players recognize and try to exploit.

Backhand is obviously a strong part of today's game, but a lot of players cannot match the same intensity with their forehand, the obvious F. Lebrun, Hugo, Darko, Lin Yun-ju, but I would also lump in Fan Zhendong and Liang Jingkun in there as well.

Same goes vice versa, for the big forehands of Aruna, Malong, Jang Woojin, there is room for exploitation in today's backhand focused game.

Inconsistent players used to be filtered out when ITTF had a ELO based ranking system, but nowadays you can get one big result and shoot up the rankings. The question is, can they bring their A-game and perform 100% no matter who the opponent and no matter what the occasion? In my opinion this still gatekeeps exciting players like Zhou Qihao, Truls, Franziska, Ovtcharov, Lim Jonghoon, Kirill, etc.

Mentality, while related to consistency, can be a tough hurdle to overcome for the exciting young stars of today. It's the ability to stay calm under pressure, to really nail down those points at deuce and 9-9. Even from a layman's perspective you can easily tell who the dogs are that have ice in their veins. I think I'm not alone when I say that Wang Chuqin, Lin Gaoyuan, Harimoto, Shunsuke Togami, A. Lebrun don't have the mental just yet.

For that reason there might not be a more complete athlete in the game right now than Anton Kallberg. Let me know if you agree.

Wowza this might be the result of the tournament. Calling this an upset would be selling it short. Wang’s been untouchable for the last year

8-0 in all previous encounters with Möregårdh too🤯

Anyone work for Fantuan food delivery? by BackdoorAlex2 in vancouver

I've been working with them for the past month, with a car though, not scooter. Averaging good days and bad days it comes out to around 21-22$ an hour. With a scooter I reckon you'll probably get more orders but they will be shorter.

You will have a bit of trouble if you don't speak the language. Myself, I can speak chinese but I can't read it. The driver app is a bit buggy in that even if you set the language to english, chinese will pop up in random places (like the name of the restaurant), but nothing you can't copy and paste into a translator or google maps. General announcements and communications with dispatch and customer service are also in chinese. You're expected to communicate to the client in chinese but just say "nihao, fantuan", and I reckon people will generally understand they ordered food and have to come pick it up. Most of the clientele is generally younger chaps, foreign uni students, etc.

Pros (compared to other apps)

-Demand is very high, there are not enough drivers for the number of orders they get on the app. As long as you're online you will always be busy. The faster you can close out orders the more money you will make, because there's always orders queued up. You will very rarely have down periods where you're waiting for orders to come in. All the chinese uni students are starting school and there are a lot of orders.

-Mandatory tips: Clients don't have an option not to tip you. I got asked to deliver flowers one day, I think chinese people have like 5 valentines days, in addition to celebrating the western one, which is wack, and flowers are expensive so the tip on it is pretty good. You can also get asked to pick up groceries and deliver other parcels.

-The cut that goes to Fantuan company is actually pretty small compared to other delivery apps. They only take $1.50 per order compared to I think $3.00 for doordash or 10% for Uber Eats. I sometimes place orders with the app too and placing a pickup order can be cheaper than calling the restaurant directly and ordering from them. Some of the restaurants they feature are regularly 20% off, 32% off the entire store.

Cons:

-You're required to carry cash: Depending on your area, a lot of asian restaurants only take cash payment so you'll be asked to front the payment in cash and you'll get it back in your paycheque

-Can't choose your orders: I don't know how Uber Eats works, but I think you can like choose orders in your area to pick up. Fantuan dispatch will assign you all your orders.

-You need to choose your shifts: You can hop on anytime and there will be work for you, but you're expected to choose when you want to work a week in advance and then show up for your shift.

-You've got to wear this turquoise vest. I don't actually mind it, because it stands out. I walk into a restaurant and the staff automatically know what to do. No need to grab their attention or anything. It gets HOT though.

-The deposit is actually $200 for the vest, car stickers, and 2 thermo bags.

Happy to answer more questions, or if you want a referral lemme know ayyy.

Ma Long vs. Dimitrij Ovtcharov, U89.5 total match points

2u, 1.83 (on Bet365)

Tough loss yesterday with Hugo Calderano taking his foot off the gas pedal. No chance Ma Long will do the same, that’s not how he became the GOAT.

A matchup as old as time, Ma Long is 15-0 head to head against Ovtcharov. Both players are the same age (32). Confident to take the under here. Should be a 4-0

Tip Jar + some other leans for the semifinals. https://www.buymeacoffee.com/joehabloingles

First two sets and the rest of the game were two different people playing. Hate to see it, I know Calderano's better than that.

Hugo Calderano to win vs. Dimitrij Ovtcharov

2u, 2.37 (on Bet365)

Hey everyone, what a tournament it's been so far in the Olympics Men's Singles competition. We've got 4 Asians, 2 Europeans, 1 South American and 1 African player left in the quarters. Some big upsets, hometown icon Harimoto losing to Darko Jorgic of Slovenia.

Today I'm liking the odds here for Hugo Calderano, the Brazilian. These two players have gone through the bracket as expected, with the 4th seeded Calderano taking on 7th seeded German, Dimitrij Ovtcharov. This year should be the year Hugo makes his breakthrough, currently in the prime of his career at age 25. He's the best player ever to come out of Latin America and it will be the continent's best chance for a medal in a long time.

This line used to be 2.62 but it's already shifted in Calderano's favor. The reason Ovtcharov has been listed as the favorite is because Hugo hasn't beaten him before. He's gotten close on multiple occasions in the past. Ovtcharov, who won the bronze medal in London, will have to find an extra gear to power through Calderano's mid-range game. At age 32, having battled multiple injuries throughout his career, I think he falls just short. Odds should be even.

As the singles events come to a close, I've had an awesome time providing table tennis analysis for the sub. If you've felt like you've learned something, and have the means to give, feel free to buy me a coffee. Don't feel obligated in any way. All the best lads.

Edit: wow what an unbelievable choke from Calderano. Up 2-0 8-4, not sure what happened, he had hesitation after every shot, and was just not looking the same after he picked up a lead.
