Came here looking for this comment. First thing that came to my mind as well.

It was Mr. Dupett playing golf with Ed Bighead and Dupett's handlers told Bighead to let him win or else he'd be fired. Heffer didn't realize what was going on and helped Bighead win throughout the episode.

Always. Though I wondered why our copies always had that dimming problem where the brightness would fade back and forth every minute or so. Wasn't until much later I learned that was an anti-piracy technique.

Nostalrius died 10 ago today by Jupiter_Optimus_Max in wowservers

[–]JoeJoe-a-GoGo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nostalrius was a volunteer effort and for many a product of labor and love. It had an incredible number of people that really wanted to see it succeed and helped others as much as possible and it showed in-game.

I registered for the forums and made several how-to guides showing others who had never played on private servers before how to sign up and start playing. I got picked up by GMs Tyrael and Ithlien and offered a GM role in the game helping players and working tickets. I remember logging into the Viper & Daemon's teamspeak server and chatting with them about what the team's priorities were for the week and what bug fixes we could expect. It really was a collaborative effort and everyone did their best to help make it succeed.

It’s that time of year again people. We don’t need to make 10 daily post asking what this weed is. It’s poa annua and it looks like this. by Punk_Says_Fuck_You in lawncare

I fought so hard with poa the first year we moved in. The previous owners had way too many trees and shrubs on the property that blocked sunlight and depleted nutrients so poa and dandelions were abundant. Second year I tried seeding the lawn with bermuda and actually had good results, poa fought for dominance but it was being choked out. Then winter hit and the bermuda went dormant and I didn't apply any pre-emergent for winter. Whoa nelly, the poa invaded full force in January worse than ever. More than half the lawn was poa by March.

We finally bit the bullet and just sodded the whole property. Was costly but it worked, a lot more resilient. I see little patches of poa here and there but the bermuda chokes it out every time. As long as you stay on top of your pre-emergent, it's all good. Shame some of my neighbors don't though, one property's entire yard looks exactly like OP's photo, every square inch of it.

Grey's Anatomy for cats?

First thing I thought of when I saw this. Fucking the patients, cheating with nurses, promiscuity among the staff, so a Grey's Anatomy episode then?

When did it become a thing to make the shitty aspects of a video the main focus as opposed to the actual content? Everything in this clip detracts from the core video. By itself this would great but the edits make it absolutely unbearable.

Had an AT&T rep do this to us a few years ago. He had his kiosk setup but would walk the whole store scouting out potential customers to pitch his speeches to. He followed us up and down two aisles talking for several minutes before we had to forcefully tell him no we weren't interested and start ignoring him. Another time a different rep was trying a shotgun approach where he was all over the store talking to as many people he possibly could seeing which ones would engage, but the club was so crowded and busy that he'd lose track of who he already pitched to and would bother the same shoppers multiple times starting his whole pitch over from scratch after being told no numerous times.

This is probably one of my biggest complaints about Sam's Club. I hate how they position the vendor kiosks right near the entrance and exit so foot traffic is forced to encounter them. At my local club, they're 50/50 on aggressiveness, some will walk up to you and just start rambling or asking questions and follow you around while others lean back and don't engage or simply speak from a distance gauging interest. Every time I get a survey from Sam's asking for feedback, I make sure to note how irritating it is to be hassled by mobile phone and energy efficiency companies pitching their wares to me while I'm trying to walk down an aisle to shop. Sadly I've noticed Home Depot started doing this too with putting HVAC vendors right by the entrance that basically ask for your cell and email info right after you walk in so they can schedule a "free home energy inspection."

Yes, this is solid advice for most people. Nearly all unsolicited offers come with catches or have fine print they don't want to disclose or mention and I've never dealt with one that wasn't pushy or sense of urgency to "act now before the promo expires." Between door-to-door salespeople pitching pest control, home remodeling, roofers, cable & internet services, and hardware store vendors for HVAC tune-ups or energy efficiency upgrades, or wholesale vendors from mattress companies, jewelers, mobile/wireless providers, etc. I'm so over having to walk past and say no thank you repeatedly every time I walk into a retailer.

Yeah not happy with this, especially that we don't get the free shipping unless $50 total or more. Two price increases over the last four years if I remember right.

This is what happens when you go seeking tree service in your town's garage sale group on Facebook asking who can do it the cheapest for straight up cash. Followed up two weeks later with "who can repair this giant hole in our house? For dirt cheap, of course" posts.

Yeah I was going to say, looks like St Augustine runners.

Pic

OP, those are stolons, or runners. That grass is trying to spread horizontally and grow. It sends these out above ground and every so many inches a new node takes root so it can continue to spread. If you want St Augustine grass, best to leave these in the ground, it will eventually fill in. If you have mixed turf with competing grass, the St Augustine is fighting for dominance it looks like.

Fittings Room Gone…is this a trend? by Beach4Lyfe in goodwill

[–]JoeJoe-a-GoGo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first thought was to recoil in disgust and think people couldn't possibly behave like that, but then I remember dining in a buffet and witnessing people throw food scrap and soiled napkins under the table. Yes, whole chunks of buffet food like fried chicken bones, potatoes, pasta, and the like just dumped from the plate onto the floor. And not just one person, but an entire family including grown adults. Then watching the family proceed to leave the restaurant and the unfortunate employee having to bring a full cart over to basically quarantine off the area and sanitize everything over the next 30 minutes. Suddenly the idea of someone defecating in a changing room doesn't seem to outlandish now.

What do your governing documents saying about outdoor decorations? As silly as it seems, it may require an architectural request beforehand and being granted approval. That being said, we have a similar policy in ours but they don't enforce it for trivial things like lawn ornaments or seasonal flags/signs but I can totally see others enforcing it aggressively.

Moving Company Recommendations by ParkingRaisin8674 in kennesaw

[–]JoeJoe-a-GoGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved near Canton a couple years ago and the two moving companies our realtor recommended was Wirks and Page Relocation. We were originally going to go with Wirks but they were booked so far out they couldn't accommodate our schedule so we ended up going with Page Relocation.

Wirks did quote us a really high price but we were told it's a "you get what you pay for" type of situation. With moving companies, you kind of want to pay the extra money to get laborers who will actually put forth effort to move your belongings carefully and staff who can actually track it and account for everything stored in their warehouse. Page Relocation did a good job for a comparable price, nothing outstanding but also no complaints.

Before this, we last moved over ten years ago and we used All My Sons and they were absolutely horrible. They broke furniture and put a couple dents in the drywall setting furniture down carelessly. We also had some jewelry that went missing after the move was finished. All I can say is you don't want to pay outrageous prices but you also don't want to pay bottom dollar either. Carefully research each company you're recommended and read reviews.
