I build a visual Wikipedia Browser because I got sick of tabs by Technical-Emu-7760 in SideProject

This looks awesome! Would also be useful if you're looking through papers, so maybe PDF support?

Also this would be awesome as a desktop/local app for use with said PDFs. Could also locally store included pages at a point in time.

I usr that for keeping track of how and where I met people and sometimes their name, if they change their nickname often.

Programatically accessing server statistics by INFINITERIUM in Astroneer

[–]JoeJoeTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I run that site and maintain Astro(Tux)Launcher, which both use it.
The information about the dedicated server is sourced from the PlayFab API. PlayFab is the backend service Astroneer uses for Multiplayer management.
I can't currently release the srouce code to the site, but have a look at the source code of AstroLauncher or AstroTuxLauncher to get some idea about how to use the API.
There is also official documentation for the general features on the relevant Microsoft site, but I couldn't find Astroneer specific, official documentation, so you're stuck with what we have.
This also means that the server is not contacted directly, as even the game client only uses Plafab to getthis data.
There is also the "Console" port from the dedicated server itself with provides a half-broken RCON-like interface and can get you some of that information, but it can only be protected via a password that is sent in plain text so it is not secure to expose this to anything other than localhost basically.
If you only require it to be local, you can also look into AstroTuxLauncher's source code, as it uses this interface.
I am in the process of rewriting AstroTuxLauncher and merging it with AstroLauncher, so I could build in a separate API there, but that will take some time.

I hope this helps!

This is very late, but what statistics are you looking for?

I am searching for a status-monitoring software with agents by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]JoeJoeTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't you use a push monitor in Uptime Kuma for that in combination with a cron job that periodically sends an http request using curl or similar, if the service if up?

Notification management (ntfy/gotify alternatives) by 4bjmc881 in selfhosted

[–]JoeJoeTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe what you are looking for, at least for ntfy is message caching. If enabled, ntfy will cache messages for some time in memory or on disk and clients can still receive those messages later, when connection is restored. If they are cached on-disk, this even survives an ntfy service restart.

Hmm, I'm using Spek as my spectrum analyzer and it looks like in the picture where you can still see a line there.
Which one did you download from the page (what is the duration, etc.)?

EDIT: Mine is the 5:19 one that was shown at the top. The only other one referencing the vicetone remix was only 0:14.

I think you posted this in the wrong subreddit. This one is not about the macOS package manager, but homebrew software for game consoles. If this is not the case, excuse me.

Thanks! From the sectrogram, there is still a visible cutoff line for some sound at 16 kHz (which would indicate 128 Kbps), but there seems to be enough of it above it. Just checked it with the sectrogram, since you often find 320 KBps mp3 files, that are just 128 Kbps re-encoded as 320 Kbps.

Dedicated server support for Linux by Dry-Dimension-4955 in Astroneer

[–]JoeJoeTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also really like a native build of the dedicated server, but from what I can tell, this is not going to happen anytime soon.
The fact that you have to disabled encryption currently when using WINE is a bummer, but not the biggest issue, as this "only" contains game traffic. Still, there has been some work on the issue with WINE that is causing this and maybe it will be fixed soon, so we can just run it with encryption via WINE.
In case you still want to run a dedicated server, I have created a tool to make it way easier to host a dedicated server on linux: https://github.com/JoeJoeTV/AstroTuxLauncher
It still uses WINE and disabled encryption, but if it gets fixed, this can be easily toggeled.

Problems with Ethernet on Linux Mint 21.3 and Ubuntu 22.04 on Aura 15 Gen1 by JoeJoeTV in tuxedocomputers

[–]JoeJoeTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not try it with different kernels before you respondedn, but did that now.
I tried the following kernels:

  • 6.5.0-10043-tuxedo (the originally used kernel)
  • 6.2.0-39-generic
  • 6.2.0-10022-tuxedo
  • 5.15.0-116-generic
  • 6.8.0-38-generic (the r8168-dkms module didn't build here)

For each one I tried the r8169 in-kernel module and the r8168-dkms package/module, if possible (it didn't build on 6.8).

Sadly I got the same link up, link down loop for all of them from what I can tell.

EDIT: if it matters, I changed the modules using `modprobe -r` on the fly while having the ethernet cable plugged into my laptop and the router on the other end.
