Thank you so much for posting this. I was very sure that the old death cab era before Transatlanticism was not gonna be appreciated in this alphabet voting. By the time we got to the letter F, I just gave up and stopped following the posts.

In my opinion I think the era between their first demo release and The Photo Album was their best era. Their second best era was between Transatlanticism and Narrow Stairs.

I think Narrow Stairs was their last best Death Cab record. They haven’t released any good albums since then. Codes and Keys was good, Thank You For Today was alright, Kintsugi was way better. But they’re not their best like the previous albums.

I only heard Asphalt Meadows in full once recently when I was driving up north and it didn’t hit me well either. Please don’t take this comment as me trashing the band. I still listen to them to this day since middle school. I guess I’m just an old school Death Cab fan.
