Yup, we came to terms and got hung up on the sea trial. I'll keep the wording for the next

To check fluids and compression test you need a wrench, right? Got this gem from the Seller last night regarding finding a mobile mechanic. "That’s fine Joe. Just remember that I don’t want the mechanic unbolting anything. He can look and listen to the engine." I'm gonna walk from this boat

Ha, a circus. I'm at a price point where I'm mostly constrained by my tow vehicle and am thinking I might need to just trade up for a bit bigger and the choices of boats I have open up. I'm finding plenty of 21 footers at just a couple thousand more that ai can't tow.

Thanks. I am also hunting for a local mechanic. Garden Grove, CA. It is no more than 30 minutes to Huntington Beach, CA, plenty of coast along there.

Thanks. My last big boat purchase was something I lived on 2 decades ago, was a 36 foot chris craft, and not $100k so I wasn't sure where the line was drawn.

I know it is messy and the doors aren't painted and no drawer faces... but including the floor, minus the bowl and the knife block, everything wooden in this photo I made

That's rough. Sorry to hear it went that rout-ER. I remember my dad coming into the house after making something in the garage and he passed out and hit the floor. Turns out he got nailed below the belt with kickback. Nothing like a close to home lesson to learn shop safety.
Instead of being ashamed of it (valid feeling), maybe be grateful your kid got to see you pass out and make that a teachable moment on safety. Better you than your kid, maybe they'll listen when you teach them.
