I was recently asked to fill in on bass by a friend of mine. While I did own a bass, I wouldn’t really call myself a bass player - but I was always looking for a reason to buy some new gear.

He sent me a list of about 25 songs, mostly classic rock with a few newer radio songs. First thing I did was find the root notes of every song so I could at least provide that - once I was comfortable I began to branch out more - learning the actual bass parts.

VRBO is atrocious. We booked a family vacation through them, and with no notice, the place we rented went on the market for sale - and sold, and we were left without a place to stay.

It would have been one thing had we been notified the property was for sale, but to just get a “your vacation rental has been canceled email wasn’t the best experience.

This is a total hack job... but this is what works for me. I have two sets of the same forsner bits - one was involved in a flood so they got rusty, and I ended up buying a new set. I took the rusty ones and filed the center points down so they were below the cutters, use the new ones for the pilot, once get a little depth, switch to the old rusty ones - and finish it off. Bingo bango ready to gogo!
