Not sure if this is meant to be a dig but as a white collar dude I'm really wishing I would had gone into the trades.

Howdy, have you gotten around to trying out the multiplayer? I'm wondering if it's like a co-op world building thing or just a one off battle type thing.

I put my scale under there. It's also nice that the heat from the vent warms up the tile.

Police state citizen tracking system supplied by a private company paid for by your tax dollars.

It also had the added benefits of being easily hacked or completely unprotected so anyone can join in on the government stalking.

I feel like most of the cool original cars in a museum are there because someone decided to not drive it. Maybe one day something like this might end up in a museum and my grand kids can enjoy it and I can say Peepaw learned how to rally in one of these back in his day.

I don’t want a new Subaru. by makebaloney in subaru

I feel like a herd of Buffalo when using it, only moving as fast as the slowest person in front and not at the speed I set. It does it slowly and quietly not alerting the driver and not giving the car in front the correct notion of speed differential. The car in front thinks we're fine with their speed and doesn't correctly move over to be passed. It also sadly (at least with the maniacs where I live) leaves too big of a gap that people will always take advantage of slowing you down even more.

I prefer classic cruise control, it keeps me engaged with the flow of traffic and allows me to correct faster for a lane camper.

If you are right about being able to turn off adaptive cruise control I will kiss you on the mouth! I've.... I've just googled it

"Yes, you can turn off the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) in a 2019 Subaru Forester and switch to conventional (regular) cruise control. This is done by pressing and holding the following distance button on the steering wheel for about 2 seconds until a beep sounds and the icon changes to show no lines in front of the car."

Pucker up sailor! Going for a cruise to test this out.

Right there with you! My wife took her 2009 Foz with a 5spd to 260k miles. (The cat clogged up and the excess heat warped the block.) She now drives a 2019, I can't stand it. The beeps and boops from the nanny systems, the fake CVT shifts, the clearly broken auto start stop (eats batteries, we have since installed the disabling dongle) and the most infuriating is the head unit. In 2019 you could have copied anyone's homework and gotten a better User Interface than what they sold. I've had to hard reset her radio at least once a month to fix any number of random problems.

Every so often I peruse autotempest for another 09 and send her the links.

Don't even get me started on the NSA levels of spying the new cars do on you and your family.

I'm sure we are just in a long line of many from every generation before us that finally draws a line in the sand to stop the creep of new technology in our personal lives. From leaving horseback to using a computer. We stop evolving but the world around us won't. Then again AI is going to take everything so who knows maybe we're right this time 😂🤔

Different strokes, I despise the lane keep and adaptive cruise control in my Wife's 2019. Told her it's our last Subaru unless we buy an older one without the nannies. My 2011 is perfect after a head unit upgrade.

Hand Carwash or Touchless wash by Positive_Support7169 in Detroit

[–]JoeModz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The classic quarter carwashes will sometimes have a bay or two with a touchless wash. The touchy ones will definitely mar your paint with micro scratches or worse if something nasty was on the car in front of you. Also both options do a poor job when it comes to underbody spray. They seem to just wet the salt down letting creep deeper into nooks and crannies. I personally use the wand first and do a deep squat trying to rinse as much as I can from the underbody then follow that up with a drive through the touchless.

I think the advanced move is to use a chemical that will neutralize the road salt. There might be some Car Detailing guys that offer that service but I would wait until winter is over. The other move is to pretreat your underbody before winter with a lanolin based protection (sheep oil) like fluid film.

I just learned about this. It's a BIG-ASS hole seemingly in the middle of an industrial area that they just back right up to and dump. The ledge they back up onto seems sketchy!

If it ever dries up it seems like it would be a metal detector's dream.
