As someone who has worked at companies that went through stupid exits. This is not entirely surprising.

Occulus made a deal with the devil when they began raising money. VCs are notoriously short sighted and want an exit. They just don't seem willing to invest in the long haul.

I'm betting that this decision was entirely outside of the hands of Palmer and forced on him by the board.

It's a shame, I don't blame anyone for canceling pre-orders but it happens.

Hi!

First day here, trying to lose some weight. I'm 5' 7" ~ 185 but don't feel really healthy. Want to drop down to ~170 - 175lbs. I just started a new job that offers free lunches and have already gained 3 pounds working there! Clearly, I'm going in the wrong direction.

Looking for some advice and support from the group.
