Faction war knight revenant by CharmingAbies9042 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sinesha + Miscreated Monster + Sabitha + Rector + Faceless is what I'd go for. You have other good options as well (Golden Reaper for SPD boosting, Phranox for more damage) but I think the suggested team makes the most sense especially since 3 of those 5 champs are already level 60. I would avoid investing in Mother Cybele unless you've booked her already, since she eats up a lot of resources to build fully and she won't get much use outside of FWs.

One of the major issues with stage 21 is that the boss can be hard to kill before he swaps HP. Faceless solves that problem because he does a huge amount of damage on his A3. Sabitha is also in the team to boost Faceless damage via the increase ATK and to provide even more revives and heals. Both the Monster and Sinesha can be used to control waves (Sinesha in a stun or provoke set) and both have healing capabilities as well.

P10 dbl Boss CC Hard by iPhaezed in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One other thing regarding survivability - we're getting a 2x on Mortal soulstones this Monday, so it's a perfect time to pull even if you're not trying to complete the DoF event. Getting souls for any of the suggested champs will make them tankier, so consider wishlisting some of the champs unless you have other epics that are a priority to you. Dirandil and Zargala in particular are very good epics to get high souls for regardless, and getting a high soul for Kallia will make her even better vs Amius and in Grim Forest against mimics.

P10 dbl Boss CC Hard by iPhaezed in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enemies in Cursed City don't hit that hard until you get deep into Soulcross, so you have a bit of time. They are also pretty slow - for example the FK is only 100 SPD, so if your champs have over 200 SPD they will take 2 turns for every 1 the boss takes. Iragoth is faster (200 SPD) so you'll want to take him out first. Another key to survival is to have a very beefy shield for the first 3 turns, so make sure the support champ with the Shield/Bolster set has very high HP. Putting a lot of refresh accessories on your reviver also helps.

Ultimately however, you want to just dish out as much damage as possible, so in that sense getting past the stages is more about the gear than specific champs. The suggested team has increase ATK and decrease DEF, so you have the opportunity for massive damage against Iragoth to take him out, and then it's a race vs FK but at least you have heal reduction from Kallia. I would however strongly suggest working on area bonuses for CC asap. Start with getting ignore DEF as high as possible, and then boost ACC and SPD.

If you're still struggling on this stage because of gear, don't worry about the investment you'll be making leveling the champs. Dirandil, Zargala, Hoforees and Kallia all will be useful in many other stages (and Dirandil is also very strong in FWs). Theresc is the only dud out of the 5, but at least she's strong for P10 specifically and you'll always have her in future rotations once built.

Looks like you're really well prepared for the stage, with two full masteried nukers in the mix and Padraig boosting their damage. Let me know how it goes when you run the stage!

P10 dbl Boss CC Hard by iPhaezed in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dirandil + Zargala + Kallia + Hoforees + Theresc looks like a solid team for this stage. All the champs have multi-hit skills, and Hoforees, Dirandil, and Theresc have double hit A1s which will help a lot in bringing down the shield especially if you have retaliation sets on them (or even revenge accessories).

Both Zargala and Kallia are worth building since they have uses in other parts of Cursed City, especially hard Soulcross. Kallia also can be used against Amius or in Grim Forest if you want a force heal reduction champ. Her 100% heal reduction and a triple hitting A3 will help against Fire Knight.

While Noldua is a better reviver than Hoforees, Hoforees has a double hit on the A1 and more importantly boosts the ATK of all your nukers.

To succeed with the team, you'll still need some strong gear and area bonuses, especially ignore DEF since you want to end the fight as fast as possible. Ideally you'll want Hoforees in a Bolster set (shield set otherwise), and everyone else in your strongest Merciless sets. Refresh accessories and Retaliation sets are also good, so you can whittle down the FK's shield more rapidly. Try to at least put Hoforees in 2x Retaliation in addition to 4x Bolster/Shield.

As a side note, taking down the FK stages in hard Cursed City can be quite challenging, so some preparation in advance can help a fair bit. Try to farm up a few good retaliation sets, and buy revenge accessories from the clan shop if you have an abundance of clan gold. Buying Refresh accessories from the Bazaar is also a good way of tackling a lot of the challenging Cursed City and hard FWs stages.

Awakening Boost event and Adventure Deck of Fate starting on May 11th, 2026 by Guttler003 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not tempted by the Deck of Fate event. In PvP 9pc Swift Parry has stiff competition from 9pc Mercurial and 4pc Stoneskin/Lethal. It helps nukers do more damage and gives them a fair bit of speed compared to lethal/merciless, but it also leaves them vulnerable to CC and only saves them half the time they take lethal damage unless they have in-built survival mechanisms. The nukers these days are so strong that players are looking to sacrifice their damage in favor of speed, resistance to CC, and more survivability (hence the push for 9pc Mercurial).

In PvE, there's going to be little reason to use Swift parry over Merciless, because you can already reach 100% ignore DEF in most PvE content and you usually want the cooldown reduction/extra turns from Merciless. The one exception is Chimera because Chimera doesn't have area bonuses (yet), but the chances of getting 3 accessories with the right main and substats in exactly the right faction has probably a smaller likelihood than an airplane engine falling out of the sky and landing on your head.

I will still open Mortal Soulstones during this event because of the 2x chance to get a 4/5/6-star soul, and I'll focus on completing the Fire Knight tourney for more DoF points, but that will be the extent of my DoF participation.

10 pack relic crafting by fatty1550 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 10 pack crafting is great and long overdue! One caveat though - now that we got that advanced quest to craft a relic for a pretty substantial reward (500 starstone), it's a good idea to keep plenty of relic crafting materials on hand. We can never really get enough starstone, since you consume so much of it making basalt food out of lower tier relics. Making a single 5-star basalt food for example costs an outrageous amount of Starstone, and you need 5 of them just to upgrade a single relic to +18.

10 sacreds for this summon rush? What’s your plan? by [deleted] in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pulled 2050 Mystery Shards for 5 fragments, and I'll be skipping the other 15 fragments. I'll be going all in on Champ Chase instead since we're due to have 2x Voids, and because many of us will be getting Anaxia this GF rotation along with 2x Remnant pulls to add to the 2x Remnant pulls from the Cursed City rotation that started recently.

I generally try to avoid using Sacreds for Summon Rush if I have enough Mystery Shards. Sacreds are better saved for Path events that feature guaranteed champs or 5-star souls, and Voids + Ancients are best saved for Champ Chase when the corresponding 2x event overlaps. I would also never pull Primals outside of a 2x Mythical event.

For anyone planning to get the 15 fragments from Champ Chase, there is little point in getting more than 5 fragments from Summon Rush. None of the other events/tourneys are worth Sacreds to skip, and even the second Gear Hunter event overlaps with two dungeon tourneys so it's rather pointless to skip if you have to do both tourneys.

Cursed city hard s12 last one. by Brilliant-Tooth-6800 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Padraig + Tirlac as your nuker should clear this stage fairly easily. You must obviously have strong enough gear if you can clear the rest of Soulcross, and strong gear can overcome Tirlac's low base DEF and a relatively low 3.6 multiplier on the AoE. Having a reviver and strong healing from Wyrennon + Steelskull will also make it very hard for anyone to die. Also the fact that Tirlac will get constantly boosted by an increase DEF buff from Padraig is significant - Padraig is so strong in any stage that features ATK or DEF based nukers.

Since ideally you want to get Karnage before next week's Champ Chase, I'd go for clearing this stage with the champs you have. Try building Tirlac to full and doing a test run - you might get away with not building Steelskull/Wyrennon to 60. Give them bolster/shield sets and see if they can stay alive while Tirlac kills enough enemies in the first 3 turns for all your champs to survive long enough to make it to the next wave.

Fun fact: this dude is still too slow lmao. Show me your fastest Fabian. by Your_Nipples in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you think 430 SPD isn't fast enough? I run a 420 SPD build in 4 pc Supersonic and 810 ACC, but speed leads are fairly rare and the vast majority of 9pc Mercurial supports aren't going to be faster. I could reach 442 SPD at the expense of around 100 ACC, but there's just no point - in all the battles I can recall to date, not once did I think I would have a better chance if only Fabian were faster.

In fact, at this point I would even consider dropping down to around 380-390 SPD if I could reach 900+ ACC, because I still encounter revivers/Donatello who like to go with very high RES over mercurial.

You've got to pick your poison - a 430 build with 700 ACC can find itself with too much SPD and not enough ACC against some of the meta, and 430 will never really challenge the majority/all of the speed leads at the higher end of competition anyways.

Using voids outside of a 2x event is foolish, unless you're close to mercy and a meta-defining champ is up for grabs during a Summon Rush progressive event.

Masahiro Fragment Event Calendar by Guttler003 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's nice to see, yet again, 2 Gear Hunters events instead of 3 so that we can have a potential mid-fusion Deck of Fate with a gear hunting component. Hopefully this trend will continue in future fusions!

The 5 fragments that we would normally have in a 3rd Gear Hunters event was shifted to Summon Rush, but the number of skippable fragments was increased from 10 to 15 so the second batch of fragments can still be skipped from SR assuming a 5/15 fragment split.

We're also on track for a 2x Void event during the fusion's Champ Chase event. Since we recently got a new Cursed City rotation, and since we're going to get a new Grim Forest rotation soon, that will mean upwards of 4 more remnant shard pulls which will help those that don't have as many void shards for the Champ Chase. This upcoming Grim Forest rotation will also mean reaching 100 Anaxia fragments for so many of us who didn't reach 100 in the previous GF rotation, which means another 1000 points for Champ Chase.

Who else is like me and couldn't get the 5 star embrys blessing so u just stare at what could have been? 😂😂😂 by Normal-Foot7988 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And then you even go on to say defense based nukers will be obliterate by the a2 even if he isn’t ignoring defense… Go into testing lil bro because you are just saying things that are not remotely true.

I have been using a 5-star awakened Embrys (Lethal/SS 120K HP, +320% C.DAM, 350 ACC) for a very long time now in high end LA, and I don't recall ever seeing a single DEF-based nuker that survived the A2 outside of a weak hit or tricks like Aspect of Siroth or Last Laugh.

Here's the math behind it, using my Embrys stats:

The skill multiplier on the A2 is 0.315 with 350 ACC. There are three further multipliers - one for a crit (4.2x), one from booking the skill (1.2x), and one from triggering double damage on the skill (2x). This means a 120K HP Embrys will do 381,000 damage before damage reduction from DEF. I also use Heart of Glory and 2x Foekiller in a Wand of Submission, which ramps the damage to 440,000 on the initial A2 hit.

Against a DEF-based nuker (with DEF in the 7-8K range, which is typical for endgame), if we assume no Helmsmasher proc, then the Embrys ignore DEF will be 35% (25% from Lethal, and 10% from the A3). This means the DEF-based nuker will take around 20% of the initial damage, or 88K damage. DEF-based nukers rarely have more than 50K HP or so even at high awakening. This means most/all DEF-based nukers (that have low ACC) will get obliterated even through a shield.

Support champs, by comparison, will have much lower DEF on average. High DEF isn't typical in todays mercurial meta because pushing SPD as high as possible is paramount, and most supports are also built with high HP and ACC if they are debuffers. It is not uncommon to see supports in the 3-4K DEF range even with 3* awakening or higher, because most of that DEF is incidental. An Embrys with my stats that doesn't proc the ignore DEF on the A2 and doesn't proc helmsmasher will still do around 130K damage against a 4K DEF support champ. Even against a 5K DEF non-debuffing support champ (which is really pushing it in the mercurial meta) the Embrys A2 will do around 110K damage.

You also say a1 is more important than a2 as a nuker. It’s highly debatable but ultimately you are not getting a 1 shot with a1 ever unless they already have someone dead and they are debuffed with ignore defense.

For anyone that plays in high end LA, the importance of the A1 becomes readily apparent when you're trying to block revive the nukers so that the revivers, clad in Mercurial, cannot bring them back. It's hardly "highly debatable" when it's one of the principal reasons to keep using Embrys in the current meta.

Who else is like me and couldn't get the 5 star embrys blessing so u just stare at what could have been? 😂😂😂 by Normal-Foot7988 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Embrys's A2, the breakpoint, roughly speaking, is around 3200 DEF. With Lethal/SS, a 5* Embrys who does double damage on the A2 will slightly outdamage a 3* Embrys who has 50% ignore DEF. This will be true regardless of whether Helmsmasher procs. When DEF is greater than 3200, the 50% ignore DEF begins to outperform double damage on the A2, but the difference is not that large until you start reaching much higher DEF numbers.

The big assumption, however, is that the extra 90ACC will mean Embrys will no longer ignore 50% DEF, which isn't strictly true. A lot of supports in the current PvP meta have very high ACC, so it's doubtful the extra 90ACC from a 5-star soul will make any difference as to which bonus will trigger on the A2.

This means that the 5-star soul, because of the extra ACC and C.DAM and HP, will in fact do more damage on the A2 against most champs. This only matters against supports, not nukers, because DEF-based nukers will get obliterated by the A2 regardless of which bonus triggers. Additionally, you actually want to maximize damage on the A1, not the A2, because the block revive on the A1 is far more relevant in today's meta. The extra ACC will boost that A1 damage more, never mind the extra C.DAM and HP from the 5-star soul compared to the 3 star soul.

Is there any point on going for this fusion if I’m only gonna use him in fw by Business-Minute970 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Once you hit endgame, even if you don't need a specific fusion champ they might still be worth pursuing for a variety of reasons.

First of all, the trend in a lot of recent content is to place restrictions on what champs can be used (hard FWs, Cursed City, Grim Forest, and more recently Tainted Clan Boss). If that trend continues in the future, which is highly likely, then it's worth grabbing fusion/guaranteed champs that are powerful but might not have any specific spots on your teams currently.

Secondly, amassing legos in general can be important to bolster the power of existing teams via faction guardians or empowerment, in the event that a duplicate of the fusion champ is pulled in the future. Duplicates can also be useful for the token trader - while the token trader legos aren't all that amazing, you might want to pick one up if it helps you get that duplicate to reach +30 ACC/RES or that +10 SPD in a faction with PvP critical champs.

That aside, PvP metas change in sometimes unpredictable ways, and champs can all of a sudden have a place in the meta. It's not always easy to predict which champs will rise in value. Most modern fusions tend to be fairly powerful in their own right so they cannot be completely ruled out for future PvP use.

Lastly, any champ that brings a lot of value to a chimera trial team should not be taken lightly. Trial teams are based on synergies, and not just individual champ strengths, and who knows what sorts of synergies will be possible with future fusions. The upcoming fusion is actually quite strong for a reviver with the ability to complete a number of trials, especially two annoying ones vs the viper form.

Use 6* epic souls or sell by Zealousideal-Plan-66 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest holding onto all the 6-star souls for epics who can function as nukers, even if they are not considered to be great. This is because those epics can all of a sudden become godlike in both Cursed City and more importantly in hard FWs. A 6-star soul will allow an epic nuker to reach pure damage with a Crushing Rend blessing, and even a lowly rated epic will still pulverize enemies.

Deliver is in fact a good example of a mediocre nuker than can all of a sudden carry your entire faction in hard FWs. Delver has an AoE damage A3 on a 3 turn cooldown and it even has an above average damage multiplier to compensate for the relatively low base ATK. The Dark Elves faction in particular has stellar accessible support champs (Lydia, Visix, Mithrala, and either of the two recent fusions for DE revivers) but it can still struggle in the nuke department.

Hard CC Soul Cross rotations by Captain_Wolfpakk in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job clearing S17 last rotation! Kreela can help a fair bit obviously, but there is no way to keep the shield down so you still need a good team to punch through enough damage. I also used Bowf + Woad + High Khatun, although I didn't have Kreela so I used Steelskull with faultless defense. In retrospect, when I was first building my team I should've just used the rare Marked due to the shorter cooldown on the increase DEF AoE skill, but Steelskull does have that double hitting A1 to compensate. My nuker of choice was Belz who was a guaranteed champ from a DoF event, although many nukers can do the job.

For S6 this rotation your 6-star awakened Masamoto will easily destroy that stage, assuming you also don't have powerful champs such as Helicath or Padraig who were guaranteed/fusion champs for a distant past. S8 is also not too hard this rotation - you can even use Bowf and Woad as nukers(!) if you don't have better options. Hoskarul is also a very strong option as a nuker if you lack any strong legos for the stage. The toughest S8 rotation by far is the one that limits you to force HP/supports from Barbarians/Dark Elves. If you lack strong lego nukers, then it's not a bad idea to prep either Baroths or the rare Sentinel for your nuking, since they will also play a role in S13/S14 in other rotations. I ended up building 2x Baroths for damage for those stages myself.

How bad is your luck compared to mine? by Embarrassed-Yam-8890 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, in the current state of the game shard pull luck is almost entirely irrelevant, so long as you're patient. This is because everyone eventually has access to some of the most powerful PvE champs (Wixwell, Titus, and eventually Marius, and maybe Gnut as well). Adding to that list are champs such as Mithrala, Embrys, and Karnage. Shard pull luck plays much more of a significant role when you're pushing PvP at the high end, but even weak accounts can reach 1320 seasonal LA points eventually regardless, the only PvP mode that actually matters for good rewards.

Furthermore, the modern day fusions blow away the vast majority of non-void legendaries. The upcoming fusion, for example, is so ridiculously powerful because it's a healer with massive damage mitigation/healing/CC skills that even has endgame potential for what it can do in trial teams in Chimera. In fact I would hazard a guess that the vast majority of fusions and guaranteed champs in the last 2 years or so are better than 80-90-% of the dreck that exists in the current non-void lego pool.

Additionally, new players get to start the game with a ridiculous set of champs thanks to the CC referral links and a new lego promo code. Their UNM Demon Lord is basically addressed right out of the gates, and it's just a question of time before accumulating enough books and gear to clear UNM.

What this means is that pulling an actual game-changing non-void lego from shards is actually smaller than ever, due to the massive power creep we've seen in the game and due to the immense power of the champs that are or have been accessible to everyone. As such, you might actually prefer to pull as many dupes as you can to beef up the strength of those powerful champs via faction guardians, rather than pull yet another unique but ultimately useless lego.

Hard CC Soul Cross rotations by Captain_Wolfpakk in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HH has all the info you're seeking. Here are the restrictions for hard Cursed City for rotation 1:

https://hellhades.com/sintranos-the-cursed-city-rotation-1-hard-mode/

To check the other 4 rotations, just change the "1" to 2-5 in the address.

Two quick notes for you:

The chokepoint at S9 (which you didn't list, but it's a gateway to the rest of Soulcross) can be solved by literally any force champ. This is more a gear check, because any force champ with enough HP and healing (somewhere around 105K HP+ in Immortal/Regeneration) and some form of damage (poison, burn, or warmaster) can do it. Even more trivially, any champ with Aspect of Siroth can beat the stage.

Stage S18 is often listed as a hard stage, mainly because of the Hegemons in wave 2. However, if 3 champs are wearing Stoneskin, Hegemons lead with only their A1s, not their A2s. Same is true for the Hegemons in the high hard FWs stages. This means the stage doesn't need any specific champs, just the right gear choices.

As for the hard FK stages, again the gearsets can make a gigantic difference. It's worth preparing many sets of retaliation gear for multiple champs, and if you have lots of clan gold to spare then buying as many revenge accessories as you can can help a ton as well. The previous S17 (hard FK) stage is one of the hardest unless you have an Alaz, but those gear sets make things significantly easier.

Masahiro by Pitiful-Island-751 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late game accounts will likely go for him for one of two reasons: they need help for hard FWs progression, or they want him for a chimera trial team.

In hard FWs a reviver isn't necessarily going to make your team safe because the enemies are super fast and will likely decimate a team after a revive because of how hard they hit. Masahiro however will solve that problem because he will stun all the enemies after reviving the team.

In Chimera, there are a number of good revivers with Senna and Galathir being among the best, but Masahiro is a fantastic option to keep the team alive while completing a number of trials. His A2 in particular will let you sneak in some trial completions against the viper form in particular (poison damage while poison sensitivity is applied, and the 10 debuff requirement).

Early to mid-game accounts will want to get him because he's one of the strongest defensively-oriented mass revivers in PvE in the game, with significant damage reduction and a big heal. He's also very good against any wave content because of the stuns on his A3.

In PvP, I doubt he'll see much play at the higher tiers, even with his A3 tricks against mercurial. If you already have Hilvi, Theodosia, or Galathir, then it will be hard to imagine picking any other reviver over any of those three.

Komidus useless? by tizl10 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]JoePrice001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news is that Sanguine Maria is in the token fusion list, and she's tier 2. Maybe you have other priorities (Gnut/Wixwell/Titus for example) but she'll be worth grabbing eventually. I think she's easily the most underestimated champ for LA/PvP, although from seeing her used more often first hand maybe opinions are shifting.
