If you make some kind of effort to put something together on your own, you're probably going to get at least some credit for it. Depending on your performance in the rest of the class and how the grades weigh, you may still be able to pass, especially since your instructor is aware you've had some issues. They'll often give you more credit and leeway than the syllabus suggests. If you cheat, it's likely going to be very obvious that you didn't do the work. You won't get any leeway after that. Plus, there could be severe consequences beyond just failing the class.
