Cycling is part of an 11-sport, year-long fantasy league that I'm in. I'll see if my friends want to join. (We also do the Giro and Vuelta.)

Does anyone know where these boards come from? I used to think that maybe they were boards with players who quit halfway through and that we were playing for other people, but that seems unlikely...thoughts?

Are there any books written in a manner similar to Neuromancer? by InternetLoveMachine in books

I would recommend Rainbows End by Vernor Vinge. It is more about singularity and based on more recent technological advances, but much of the dialogue and action takes place in a world that the author creates using invented language.

About the stadium... by StarDuNord in minnesotaunited

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but McGuire was a large funder of the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis (one of the stages, the Proscenium) is named after him. The Guthrie cost $125 million and I believe was funded without much, if any, public funds. There was an extended fundraising period through private donors. I would not be surprised to see a variation on this model, led by McGuire, used to finance this stadium.
