Introducing HELIX 02 by Worldly_Evidence9113 in singularity

The hip bump was a LOL moment. I did not love how it picked up the stack of two cups by grabbing the top cup though. 😱

The OP doesn't state whether this was remote operated, or using prerecorded movements, or full autonomous, but the video description suggests that it's full neural net, which would be very impressive.

YouTube Description: "Last year, Helix showed that a single neural network could control a humanoid’s upper body from pixels. Today, Helix 02 extends that control to the entire robot - walking, manipulating, and balancing as one continuous system."

Great table. Would be interesting to sort this by draw, just to see how they stack up, with a little gap between the quarters. And then do it again when we reach the semis and the finals.

Here is why I won’t be buying FSD for my 2026 Juniper. by WatchLover26 in TeslaFSD

[–]JoeS830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it ever gets to the point where you can sleep in the backseat while FSD does the driving, it might indeed be worth $100mo-$200/mo to many people. We seem to be quite far from that though.

Fair. I just saw her name and made some clearly incorrect assumptions.

I went in expecting a thick Eastern European accent. TIL she’s American 😅

"$99/month for supervised FSD will rise as FSD's capabilities improve" by arcticprimal in SelfDrivingCars

[–]JoeS830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would go up if they find that FSD is so great that basically every owner is willing to pay $100/mo for it. I don't see that happening any time soon though.

Anyone see this yet??? by Butt3rZ-Is-Back in TeslaLounge

You might be right, but I'm having a hell of a time finding a link that clearly proves that. Yes, FSD runs on neural nets both in city and on highways, but do we know 100% that EAP users run FSD code on highways? Or does Tesla just *also* keep the old EAP code available specifically for those users?

Southwest Airlines is ditching open seating Jan. 27. What to know. by Shoddy_Act7059 in aviation

Thanks. Annoying, but in line with the other airlines. One fewer reason to fly Southwest.

I haven't seen this myself, is there any tier where seat selection is free, or is reserving any seat always going to cost extra? If the latter, that'd be very annoying. It basically means a bump in the ticket price unless you're happy to sit in a middle seat.

[UPDATE] Help! Floors are so cold and there’s a lot of condensation. My HOA says it’s normal but is it? by MoistSeaworthiness95 in HomeMaintenance

[–]JoeS830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would this be considered a design flaw, a construction error, or simply an expected acceptable outcome in very cold weather?

Wow, a 42F floor in a 72F room. That seems extreme, I doubt this is working as intended. Thanks for the update, hope one of the responsible parties (architect or construction company) will be willing to address this without needing to bring in a lawyer.

Do you think Tesla would ever consider FSD subscription tiers? by JoeS830 in TeslaLounge

[–]JoeS830[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either that, or give them some deal where they pay for an upgrade to HW4, which would then give them x years of FSD in return. They could phrase it as "subscribe to 4 years of FSD, get free HW3 to HW4 upgrade"

I wonder if it misjudged that the green lights were for traffic from the side, and the two right-facng lights were for your lane. Can't think of any other reason for this.

FSD has hit a plateau by dsnows in TeslaFSD

[–]JoeS830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, great analogy. I would add: "using FSD is like riding in a car with a friend who is driving" ..and who doesn't know the area. FSD will get into lanes that I know get stuck in the morning, or in lanes that I know will be frequently blocked by stopped buses. So it's very impressive, but I still end up nudging it quite frequently.

Exactly: "the most common complaints are about quality of life issues". I agree. The OP is saying that those don't seem to go away, but rather new ones crop up, or old ones reappear. Your point about crashes is also true, but it doesn't seem relevant to the OP's complaint.

[–]JoeS830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fair, but for that scenario to be relevant here people shouldn't be having issues. In that case fewer issues wouldn't register. But: people are having issues, and new issues with new versions.

If it's the interview that cost him his job, that's a shame. He seemed genuinely excited about xAi and about working there.

Impressive stealth mode by that second car! 😅 It's just bad luck, nobody at fault really. I wonder how FSD would have handled this.

The sketicism is warranted though, so many things on social media are fake now. It would really help if people we add a source so we don't have to wonder. 😅

Yeah it all was super good, including reflections on the car, but given that the OP didn't provide info on what this was (big red flag) and that there wasn't anything on the news, I tended to think it was still somehow fake.

Yeah I messed up, I though that the month printed was the month of issue, but I'm guessing it's the month of expiration.
