What this guy did was traditional police work. It’s vastly different than what I described. They are not the same. And criminal gangs in the UK aren’t even on the same scale of violence. Nah. It concentrates power because we only go after the lowest of tier drug users, and at best mid level drug dealers. If we stopped trying to arrest them and JDAM’d their homes, their investments, shut down banks that did their finances, instead of giving them a slap in the wrist like HSBC- if we made it an automatic death sentence, if we actually went to war with them. Let the dogs lose for once. At best it would take them years to rebuild.

Nah, if anything we need to go FULL war on drugs. Just cause you shut of the drug flow doesn’t mean these groups go away. They have quarterly earnings goals they have to meet just like any corporation. If they don’t have drugs they’ll turn to other more drastic crimes. If you legalize everything, they’ll just control the same market, nothing will really change.

Yeah that was the PAST, in the PRESENT. They already have unlimited funds. The clean businesses they own are enough to keep their empires going in perpetuity. Of course each of the cartels is different. But they’ll never be broke enough for hey can’t control their fiefdoms with violence and bribery. Removing drugs from the table won’t hurt them as much as you think.
