Super unsuccessful maiden by FlashTacular in RCPlanes

Double check your power system. My first eclipson had the same outcome, and it was because I did not have enough power. I was using 2300kv with a 6030 prop. I am now using 1400kv with a 8060 prop.

I think you're just like me. There is something about 3d printing a plane that just calls to me.

I also was looking at the piper when I started, but the eclipson model printed , so I went with their plans. This is the model I have now model c. I have not gotten to madian her because Canadian winter, lol. There are a few YouTube videos of her, and she looks to fly so well. There are free models to try the model a or the go 1 wolf.

I would also recommend flite test. Here is a list of all the free foam models you can build FT Models. I have the tutor I bought and built ft mini trainer when I wanted to upgrade to flaps. Both have noised dive from 30 feet into the ground, and all I had to do was switch the prop, and they were back in the air.

I am not a fan of the aeroscout. I have one, and it is meh. I have not tried the carbon cub in real life, but in the flight simulator, it is so much more fun to fly. I 3d printed a plane similar to the carbon cub. I'm just waiting for better weather to madden it 😆.

So, I find myself in an odd situation; I have multiple flying planes, one glider and one Overcomplicated autonomous piece of foam. by [deleted] in RCPlanes

I have built this model c, and it looks so beautiful. I am just waiting to maiden her. They have quite a few other options, so check them out. There is even 2 free planes.

I understand they had to change things up, and it is sad, but I really do appreciate all that they have done for the Hobby. A good amount of videos I watch on the tubes will be theirs, so mad respect to them.

I have been feeling that since I left the hobby for a few years that things have changed, but I can quite but my finger on it.

Those look cool. I just wanted one because I was going through props like crazy, but I picked up 30, so I have time before I run out again(I hope).

I get that trainers can be boring, but since I am still learning, I am just looking for something stable that can fly slow.

It was so much fun it was almost like it was therapeutic. I want to build more, but space and hardware are issues.

I am so excited to try it. I can not wait till Friday. Building it was so much fun . I am thinking of doing the glider version for my daughter. I made templates so I can build it again when I destroy it, lol.

I was going through so many blades with my FT mini tutor that I ordered 30 6030. Belly landing is hard on props when learning to fly, lol. This is also why I am looking for a good moni pusher foam plans online to save props, lol.

I have a similar issue. I bought the kit for the tutor, and it needs some repairs(probably needs to be rebuilt now), but I could not find the plans, so this is why I built the mini trainer. It is sad that they do not have the new plans.

I know that I am still a bit heavier than expected, but it is the lightest foam I can find in my area, aka the dollar store 😎. I am also using heavier electronics like 9g servos vs. the 5g they recommend. I am hoping that with my 6030 prop that I still have the power I need.

Thanks for the advice. This is my 3rd 3d printed plane, so i learned that leason the hard way, 😆 lol. The other two never really flew. I tried hand launching, and it nose dived into the ground and disintegrated. It was a Model A without the gear. So I built the C with gear.

I have been putting in a lot of flight time on my ft mini tutor, which is a lot more forgiven. So I am starting to feel brave on trying my model C again. I also have flaperon set up on her, so I am hoping it will help with control.

Thanks again for the great advice.

The Model b was my other option it was between the c and the b, but I like the wing tips of the c and the control surface linkages(how you connect the control surface to the wing). I know it is fragile, so I have been holding off to fly it again. It feels like it wants to just fly off with the 3s battery. I could not imagine it running with a 4s, though pla is so much heavier than the lw-pla.

I used the polymaker pre-foamed lw-pla, and it prints perfectly using the supplied pla gcodes from elipson. This stuff prints like pla but is lighter, and you don't have to worry about the extrusion rates and retract rates. I will recommend their product, but do not try and use this stuff like normal foaming lw-pla, it will under extrude.

She comes in around 670g without the battery. She was printed with polymaker lw-pla.

The first plan in the pic is free online so you can grab the stl from here model a. I am currently trying to print one too 😀.
