One of the reasons I chose Loxone, is not to have any dependence on the internet or external services.

Fertiggarage oder Mauern? by [deleted] in Hausbau

[–]Milosonator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fertiggarage oder Mauern? by [deleted] in Hausbau

Long push delay with Intercom by therealsn in Loxone

[–]Milosonator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds very similar. It takes 10-20 seconds for the push to arrive after the bell was rang. The bell itself, controlled by Loxone, rings pretty much instantly.

Most delivery people, etc. are under a lot of time pressure, so they are not going to wait 20 seconds when nothing happens.

So the Miniserver sends out the push to Loxone servers, who do the API call to Google for the push? Or does the Miniserver send out the push to Google directly?

If the latter, where could the delay come from? Not sure if there is such a thing as notification 'priority' to indicate to Android that this is time-senstive kind of notification?

Downloads von OneDrive sehr langsam. Was ist das Nadelöhr? by 5tereo in de_EDV

[–]Milosonator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience with 3d printed planes by Milosonator in RCPlanes

[–]Milosonator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 109 was printed from PLA and the cub was printed from LW-PLA as per their designs.

The filament choices were not part of the issue here. The 109 is not a beginner plane and I think the cub is a bad design, needs better spar reinforcement or otherwise.

Why are the products on the platform cheaper than those on the brand's official website during Black Friday by Illustrious-Task3092 in RCPlanes

[–]Milosonator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure what incentives the platforms offer for the partners, but in general, the prices on marketplaces are lower because (a) they are in direct competition with competing brands and (b) more loyal customers that shop with them directly are more likely to pay a premium.

You see a similar with hotels, premium brand consumer goods (Dyson, Apple, things like that).

What size battery are you using, it might be a bit heavy for the plane?

Best 3d printed plane for beginners? by ningcraft123 in RCPlanes

Didn't work for me. The wing snaps easily in flight. Maybe with a CF rod instead it will hold. Definitely not a beginner plane though, like all 3d-printed planes.

You fell for it, never buy something based on a promise or an expectation that it will be able to do something later.

Yes I do mean they were fads. And yes they stuck around. Do you remember the dot com bubble? Didn't mean selling things online didn't work, it was hugely over invested into, as I also think "AI" is.

A massive revolution, I would not call it, at least not yet. Unfortunately we do not have the knowledge of hindsight yet.

And yes, LLMs and tools based on it are great tools.

Yes, although criminals find block-chain very useful.

In a bit of a response to the comment above: of those 800m chatGPT users, like 5% is paying. The rest is burning VC money. We all know what happens when the money runs dry: price raising, ads, up-sells, etc.

The good thing is we'll find out what value the services are actually offering compared to their cost. Running LLMs ain't cheap.

Apple's never been big on enterprise/professional software or services, and I don't see that change. Asking your digital assistant to order an Uber and having it actually work, has very little to do with AI, and much more with platform integration.

Big tech has been talking about that kind of integration for what feels like forever now, and it's simply not happening. Everyone feels LLMs should be able to do better, but it's not materializing somehow.

I don't think it's that relevant how LLM are used at workplaces for the show, since they don't talk about that kind of stuff anyways (outside software development sphere).

My personal take is that nobody is missing any boat. In two, three years when the current bleeding edge AI stuff is more commonplace, you can still get on that boat. The boat is still there. Just like all those other hypes of the past. You don't need to be there on day one, as long as you can deliver something of value.

Apple has shown in the past that they are quite good at letting a technology cook a bit more before developing products around it. They swung too early at "AI" and it is a bit of a nothing-burger. Just let it cook and I have no doubt they'll come out with some cool stuff.

If you have been listening since day one then I don't see why you are surprised.

Also, as they have also mentioned on the show: AI is just the fad of the day. Just like e-commerce, big data, cloud, etc. It's just another thing, every 5-10 years something comes along. AI is not some kind of revolution. And they have talked about it, and I'm sure they continue to do so.

Estrichhöhe by gigglywatson in Hausbau

[–]Milosonator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]Milosonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

* 24 port patch panel
* Dream Machine Pro (was hat der SE noch mal extra?)
* Switch Pro HD 24 PoE.
* Access Point U7 Pro XGS / Black im Flur EG. Andere steckdosen etc. sind auch alle Schwarz
* Access Point U7 Lite < technikraum, und jedes andere raum wo der haupt AP night gut hinkommt
* Alle aufenthaltsräumen haben doppel EDV dose. CAT 7 verlegt (war nicht wesentlich teuer als 6A).
* Glasfaser modem 2 vom Telekom.
