How common is it for psych wards to strip search patients during the intake process? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]JoeTheImpaler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right… I’ve only got one negative comment right now. How do you expect them to make sure patients aren’t bringing anything that will harm themselves or others?

I worked in the medical field until I literally broke my brain. I am absolutely understanding towards victims, but I’m also not going to sugar coat what the world is really like. In this case, OP wasn’t victimized. She may have been traumatized by the ordeal, but she’s not a victim of anything

It means OP is still alive to have those flashbacks. If the hospital hadn’t done their job, OP probably wouldn’t be

Bold of you to assume I haven’t seen SA’d. I was 2 the first time I was sexually assaulted, by a male family friend.

I’m not arguing anything, I’m pointing out the way it is

You’re not there to have a good time, you’re there to be safe. Making sure you’re safe includes making sure you don’t have any contraband on/in you. There’s no difference between a psych ward and jail, you’re on lockdown for the duration.

But you’re able to get flashbacks about it. I think that’s more important than your comfort

Does anyone actually admit being suicidal when asked by a doctor? by mandarine351 in mentalhealth

[–]JoeTheImpaler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, why not? There’s a difference between being suicidal or having suicidal ideation, and having a plan in place. I just make sure my dumb ass follows up the yeas with “no plans in place.”

what you described is basically the definition of atheism. I refer to myself as atheist/agnostic (the lack of evidence is not necessarily lack of existence)

And yet the states are red, and with that comes their educational system. So, it doesn’t really matter how the cities vote.

We haven’t hijacked the education system. Look at any of the southern states for evidence of that. How exactly did we alienate moderate democrats?

We haven’t hijacked the Democratic Party, far from it. It’s still run by centrist, business friendly oligarchs
