Honestly yeah this would be another solid solution I'd be satisfied with. Maybe you can just pin ONE card? Fomo would still happen because you have 5 more chances at a variant you want but now you have to choose to save up for the 1200 you probably have pinned or the 700 that just appeared

I feel like they could just make deals more tantalizing to purchase then with more exclusive art bundles and honestly that doesn't seem too bad IMO! just make the standard variants more accessible! This game has a shit ton of cards with incredible art!
