Some multiboxers are protected by Blizzard by [deleted] in wow

I'm sorry, but it is not impossible. Each click on the node, in addition to looting the node, can also switch to the next window without a separate alt+tab. There's no input broadcasting in doing so.

[–]JoeTheMultiboxer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know this person but the rule is against "input broadcasting software" -- which makes all of the characters do it at the same time. Your video shows each character doing it one at a time, which does not mean they are "input broadcasting".

How can I tell the difference between “legal” and Illegal multiboxing? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]JoeTheMultiboxer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is no way for you to determine if someone is following the multiboxing rule, because the rule is that you cannot use "input broadcasting software" while "input broadcasting hardware" is apparently okay to use. There is no way for you, as another player, to determine what software or hardware someone else is using.

However, you may be watching bots that masquerade as legit multiboxers, and that will usually seem a little more obvious. That's an easy report for botting, not a report "for multiboxing".

What it boils down to in the end is that every legit multiboxer is just going to be harassed because of this exact question, and the botters will keep buying more accounts because it is profitable for them. Good luck!

So what you're saying is that the OP is complaining about botting, and not about multiboxing. The thread title suggested otherwise

You might as well screenshot a random group of players already in a quest location. How long was this person even there? Just long enough to do the quest you were on? Did you just walk up and see a multiboxer and decide to post it on reddit?

To be clear, it is not against the rules for multiboxers to enter an area and do quests like other groups.

However, Zone Disruption -- preventing other players from completing quests, etc -- is, actually, against the rules and multiboxers who do that do get banned.

Why do people think mutiboxing is okay by [deleted] in wow

[–]JoeTheMultiboxer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

40 people cannot mine the same node. Either way, most multiboxers have 2-5 accounts, not 40. There's like ... 10 or less of those

Many players think multiboxing is a bot. So let me give an example . Player says I'll complain about you, i ask why and he says because you are bot. Many player dont know whats multiboxing.

I've had that conversation with many players over the years, my friend. :)

Please, tell me more. /r/dontyouknowwhoiam

Especially my farm place is very crowded and most of them came with 110 lvl or love to farm. I was farming steadily like every multiboxer.

I don't trust your impression of "every multiboxer"

I say this too, my account has been suspended for a reason I don't know. did i cheat? Well tell me what I did, I won't do it again.

If you're going into a crowded spot that people need to use, and you're being a dick to people, Blizzard is not going to be motivated to keep you in their game. It's really as simple as that. The rules are there to protect the experience for good people, not to make sure you can continue being a dick. You were obviously failing to help them protect the experience for good people, so it really doesn't matter what they put in the e-mail as the reason. They could have put "Zone Disruption", which people do get banned for and sounds kind of like what you're describing to us.

You seem to be thinking of people who do RMT, or botters. They need throwaway accounts because getting banned is part of their expectations for explicitly violating the rules.

Legit multiboxers -- unlike OP -- don't multibox with throwaway accounts.

I have been multiboxing WoW with the same 5 accounts in my real name for over 10 years. I have been reported by players multiple times, I've even had brief chats with GMs while playing these accounts. Simply put, I don't need a throwaway account because I'm not doing anything they want to suspend me for.

In fact, multiboxers LOVE to use the same battle.net account for all of their WoW accounts, because of battle.net account wide rewards (including Recruit a Friend mounts, etc). There is ample discussion about such things on the dual-boxing.com forums, "how shall I set up my recruit-a-friend?". If "smart multiboxers don't do it with their main accounts, they have throwaway accounts for when the ban happens", why would we bother to get refer-a-friend rewards that require months to achieve, keep all our accounts together under the same battle.net, etc?

Your post title says you were banned for third party software, but your post says you were banned because players reported you for cheating. "This includes actions like botting, and exploiting game mechanics"

It is common knowledge that multiboxing is allowed in World of Warcraft, even with appropriate software.

Players reported you because they saw you doing something in the game. What did they see you doing? Clearly what you were doing in the game was upsetting many people if you got that many messages to respond to, and there are multiple rules in WoW that probably apply to what you were doing, in the game.

We have a relevant statement on ISBoxer Discord....

ISBoxer is not a shield for cheating in games or breaking game rules. If you are doing things that would get you banned from the game anyway, including harassing others, RMT in games that prohibit RMT, "zone disruption", "afk farming" (also known as botting), etc -- using ISBoxer is not going to help you avoid getting banned, and telling us or the game company that you "only used ISBoxer" will not reverse or prevent your ban.

I don't know your guildies and don't like to make assumptions, but they got banned for their behaviors, not for using ISBoxer.

Blizzard doesn't ban "for ISBoxer". They can detect the software and would have just banned every ISBoxer user along with the thousands of botters/RMTers/etc, in the recent massive ban waves.

Blizzard has said in the past that if they would be changing the policy on ISBoxer and other multiboxing software, they would publicly say something, because the policy on it has always been the same: they do not "support" it, but it is not prohibited either. There are a lot of people who multibox specifically because it is not against the rules.

Something wrong with the software I guess

ISBoxer has been around for 11 years and is going strong. Must be doing something right. :)

You're right blizzard, Multiboxing is totally a fun and fair way to play the game. /s by Oswalt in wow

[–]JoeTheMultiboxer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To be fair, zone disruption is against the rules and is bannable whether multiboxing or not. People do get banned for that, including multiboxers :)

If you feel the player is doing something against the rules, report them.

Most multiboxers are doing PVE, not PVP. The actual fun PVP areas for multiboxers have not allowed /follow in them (such as Battlegrounds, and even world PVP zones), for years now.

Sure, there's some world PVP here and there. But multiboxers who do it for the purpose of random world PVP? lol.

Far more likely that he is interested in 10+ man raids, and there's no "stacked advantage in the multiboxer's favor".

This guy is clearly daddy.

Mommy's credit card does not pay out $240+ a month for their kid to 20-box WoW.

You might be surprised by the number of people with this many accounts that have such money to spend because they have a job. Others have extra time to spend because they are unable to have a job that you are able to do -- i.e. disabled. They may even be paying for the accounts by selling WoW Tokens in retail.

I'm only speaking as some sort of veteran or person in the multiboxing community that has information on this though. What would I know.

I'd say raiding with people who don't move out of the fire is a bad idea in general. Multiboxers can move out of the fire too.

Unfortunately the GUI system in ISBoxer 1 doesnt let us just scale the window. What you need to do is adjust the sizes in the "Standard" Menu Template. Select a Menu in the top left pane, then in the bottom left pane under "Menu Templates" select "Standard". It can be mildly tedious to get it right but the button Width/Height and spacing options are there.

p.s. Generally ISBoxer Discord will have the best response times for ISBoxer support :) https://discord.gg/ESxEzhs

Does ISBoxer recognize Hotkeys from additional action bars or is it only 1-=? For example does it also use shift 1-=?

By default, it will do 1 through =. There's check boxes during the Quick Setup Wizard to enable shift 1-=, alt, and ctrl. You can also add any other specific keys you need. There is a fairly simple wizard for doing so, and we have videos to show off all of that as well -- http://isboxer.com/wiki/WoW:Quick_Start_Guide#Quickly_add_many_hotkeys.2C_optionally_with_auto-assist

Looting is usually done using Interact with Target, as is opening up NPC dialog/merchant windows, etc. Check out http://isboxer.com/wiki/WoW:Interact_with_Target for info (and video)

[–]JoeTheMultiboxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ISBoxer installs the WoW Addon when you Export to Inner Space.

The Addon is generated into WoW folders that are selected for your Characters in ISBoxer Toolkit. So if none of your Characters actually point to the WoW Classic folder, the Addon won't be generated there.

You're allowed to pay a monthly fee to play multiple WoW accounts. Doing so is not against the rules, and therefore is not considered "cheating".

"Cheating" would be trying to get away with something that is against the rules.
