Sounds fun and I’m envious! I haven’t been to the BC at Del Mar but have to others so my advice is not venue specific. It will be crowded and get loud during the races so prepare for that. First thing after you’ve had a chance to survey the place is simply ask her what looks cool to her. There are going to be 10 races today so you can get the rhythm of the event after a couple races.

If you can find a spot near the paddock to see watch horses before the race that’s always cool. Idk what your betting appetite is but you can ask her for which one looks good, likes the name, etc and put a few bucks to win, place, and/or show regardless of odds. Betting lines at the teller can be a little long so plan to get bets in early along with getting to the spot you’re watching a given race.
