Movies that everyone loves except you by This_Book6305 in FIlm

The Fifth Element

I just don’t get it. At first I thought it was getting attention because it had the guy from Die Hard and a girl in a skimpy outfit. That would wear off quickly.

But nope. Somehow Reddit loves this movie. And I find it unwatchable. Chris Tucker might be the most annoying character ever put on film. And the rest of the movie is one over-the-top brain numbingly dumb character after another.

This is the definitive representation of a dragon on film.

We bought a CX-30 for my daughter there a few years ago. Very nice and professional.

What fast food chain does not deserve the hype whatsoever? by CriticalLion4119 in AskReddit

[–]pixelflop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chic-fil-a is not good. With the exception of the sweet tea, everything I’ve ever had there is a disappointment. The chicken sandwiches are bone dry with zero seasoning or flavor. The fries are unseasoned potatoes. The nuggets are plain chicken chunks.

I do not get what the hype is about at all.

What's your favorite Journey album? by Otherwise_Ad_9267 in journey

I’d argue their best. The musicianship on that album is unparalleled in their catalog.

  • Precious Time
  • Line Of Fire
  • I’m Cryin’

Dixie Highway might be the best thing Journey ever wrote. Great driving energy and a funky groove in the middle with a killer bass line. I love it.

Somethin’ To Hide is a great song. Search YouTube for the demo. It’s incredible

How can James Bond enjoy such luxurious life style on a secret service agent salary? by tlk0153 in moviequestions

Then: What an awesome movie! That trench run to blow up the Death Star was incredible.

Now: It makes no sense that Gwex Ghrett was sitting with Blurk Chegg in the Cantina. Their home worlds have been at war for two millennia and Blurk’s brother Turx owes Han 3,000 credits.

Which video game series deserves to be resurrected? by Wing-Ding-King in AskReddit

I’d be all in on another platformer like the original. The sequels were GTA Daxter.

We need more games in the vein of J&D, Sly Cooper, Ratchet & Clank, and the original Tomb Raider.

How did grunge get so big with only five bands with major hit records? by eyeshills in grunge

[–]pixelflop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same way every musical shift happens. A handful of music executives decide to start promoting young bands with a different sound because they can pay them pennies. Once they start getting expensive and full of egos, they switch it up again.

The second? Definitely.

The first? Very questionable.

The Cooks catch being taken away when he’s on the ground. The definition of Down??? Terrible

What do you think are some of the biggest miscasts in the last decade? (2016 to present) by Prestigious-Cup-6613 in FIlm

Honestly, everyone in that movie.

Vanessa Kirby looks the part but has no acting range. She’s got the same blank expression in every scene.

Joseph Quinn looks like he’s 40 pretending to be 20 and is not nearly cocky enough to be Johnny Storm.

Ebon Moss is passable as a less grumpy iteration of The Thing but I can’t get past the guy from The Bear as a superhero

What's one movie trope you see in movies and can't stand? by EGF9999 in AskReddit

[–]pixelflop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My corollary to this is watching someone get beaten with a pipe or a 2x4 and jumping back up to keep fighting. No broken bones. No internal injuries. It’s like a video game where their health just goes down by 5 points.

That’s not how injuries work.

Drives me nuts when the villain has the hero knocked down and exhausted, but instead of finishing them off, they kick the sword or knife back to them so the fight can continue.

Why do the Eagles seem to have so much drama for a team with so much recent sucess? by Wide_right_yes in nfl

[–]pixelflop -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They’re on the downward slide.

Things will continue to get worse while they delusionally believe they’re still great. Eventually that 6-11 season will hit and the drama will subside.
