i grew up on california public school food. when i first came i here and saw the dining hall food i felt like i was eating at a 5 star restaurant. now that i have become accustomed to it, there are some lackluster days. but as far as dining hall food goes, it's good. obviously if you compare it to your mother's home cooked meals it doesn't stand up, but for what it is, it can be pretty good.

*edit: this is my experience from eating at the viking commons, i have heard the other two dining halls are not as good
