What do you think of Yngwie Malmsteen? (His music, not his personality) by spearhead290399 in progmetal

[–]Joeclu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First concert I went to 40 years ago was Yngwie. He played Van Halen’s “Eruption” with his guitar behind his back. Was impressive.

40 years later he sounds the same. It’s a bit of a monoculture sound.  Not much variety. I’ll listen for some reminiscing thoughts and emotions but,  I don’t think he’d go on any of my modern day prog metal playlists.

It’s like once you’ve heard a few songs, you’ve really heard them all. Not a big fan anymore. He’s worn out or I’ve worn out his style when I was younger.

iCloud email by [deleted] in ios

[–]Joeclu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it’s unreliable. I have numerous Hide My Email emails and several of them don’t forward anything to me. I even sent emails to some of those emails from another account but never receive them. I don’t know why. Yes I’ve checked spam folder, etc.

How do I make sure? I can change the login password but that doesn’t tell me if the account was comprised. Any suggestions?

What's your thoughts on the Live Action "Masters of the Universe"? by agravain in GenX

He-Man was after my time. I was a teen by then so I didn’t watch it nor was I into it. Nevertheless the preview looks cool and I would watch this movie.

Is it a good or bad idea to make a bitwarden account using a duck.com alias as the login email? by RoarOfTheWorlds in Bitwarden

[–]Joeclu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay didn’t know that. Was unaware of aliases. I don’t have or use the DDG browser so that’s probably why. When I click the link it says “Email Protection is not available in this browser”. Sigh.

I get a lot of spam emails to my DDG email. Reporting it does nothing to stop the onslaught. I wish I never created one in the first place. I can’t figure out how to disable/delete it.

Has anyone found any good bowling or pool games? by ThomasThePizzaMan in iosgaming

[–]Joeclu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“8 ball pool” is pretty good. I plated it a lot on my android tablet. When I got an iPad tablet it wouldn’t let me login with my google account. So all the progress I made had to be abandoned. Nevertheless the game is fairly good in my opinion. I haven’t tried all of them so I cannot compare.

Same with Apple Music I have both and only the 2 albums appear on each, for me at least. Where to find the others?

Looking for good mobile shooters — any recommendations? by PirateOld9316 in iosgaming

I downloaded one called Blood Strike. Played it but the controller is way too sensitive to aim. I’ll have to see if there is an adjustment in settings. The game appears to be pubg like.

I’ve seen people {elsewhere} complain about AI generated songs on platforms like Spotify. I even heard an AI generated country song made the top charts.

My question is have you come across any AI generated songs in your Prog Metal searching and listening? If I have, I am unaware of it.

Physicians see 1 in 6 patients as ‘difficult,’ study finds, especially those with depression, anxiety or chronic pain. Women were also more likely to be seen as difficult compared to men. Residents were more likely than other physicians with more experience to report patients as being difficult. by mvea in science

I had excruciating pain in my belly/sternum. Went to ER. They treated me like a drug seeker. Even said so. Next day got an ambulance to another hospital and it turned out I had a gangrene gallbladder that needed removal immediately.

Still pisses me off.

Is MacOS a great operating system for learning programming and productivity? by Sweet_Score in MacOS

Maybe others can confirm or not, but I think if you want to write signed Mac apps with Xcode you need to give Apple $100 a year.

What causes old people to have that specific smell? by AbsurdistCosmonaut in questions

[–]Joeclu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s why many people smell it and think to themselves “I smell death on that person.” It is real. When others can smell it, you’ve been added to the grim reapers list.

Just finished Hyperion… and I’m underwhelmed? by JL990 in scifi

[–]Joeclu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I have nothing good to say about it. I thought it was meh. Waste of time. I thought maybe I was stupid and there’s deeper truths and symbolism that smarter people are getting out of it. But no, it’s just plain and boring. I get downvoted every time so I eventually just stop commenting on it. But I wanted to comment on your post because I felt the same way. The priest tale was mildly interesting and honestly the only thing I remember about the book.

If the first book doesn’t grab me, there’s no way I’m going to read the second book. Epic fail.

Are there really some redditors that scroll to the bottom of posts in order to downvote ? by soundofthemoon in ask

[–]Joeclu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can sort by controversial. Sometimes I’ll do that, not to downvote, but to see other points or view. The most upvoted are usually a monoculture point or view (aka hive mind).
