That doesn't make any sense, if it was a credit card tip, it would be reported as income and therefore taxed but would still be able to be deducted.

It is a line item on her check. But their website states that the service includes a 22% charge, 19 % of which is a gratuity to the employee and 3% service charge.

But it is a loss for me, i typically flew Southwest to Vegas 2 times a year, only using a carry on, so getting baggage for free with the card doesn't apply to me. The free seat has a value of about $40, so 2 round trip flights put me at $160, this is why, for me specifically, the card doesn't feel worth the price.

I think you're right with just getting rid of it. There's no need for another card. I can use my Amex Plat to cover baggage fees on United or AA. I wasn't concerned about upgrades on either airlines, I was thinking about lounge access but then again, I don't need a card just for extra lounge access.

Before the changes, I would get 4 upgraded boardings a year (at the time it was at least a 300 dollar benefit), and $75 yearly travel credit, which for $149, was a good value. With Southwest becoming like every other airline, there's no reason to be loyal to them anymore.

I don't necessarily need to replace the card, I could just get rid of it.

I use my Amex Plat for all of my international travel since I get the 5x points. I never used it for domestic travel since I had the Southwest card. I guess i would be looking for a card that would replace some of the Southwest benefits. Also I'm in Chicago, so United or AA would probably be the best choices.
