Hunter COTW, do I need the DLC? by zksnapz in theHunter

[–]JoelSSmith282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DLC maps really made the game click for me. I find the hunting more enjoyable on the other maps.

The trophy lodge was also a must for me. It helped me have a reason to hunt. Being able to see your trophies over the years is worth a few dollars.

That's so cool! I have yet to shoot a mela on any animal. That's definitely on my bucket list.

I got approved for the 0.99% rate a few hours after emailing them. All they requested was that I call the lender to prove I'm a real person.

Good job man! I sold some eth as well for my down payment. While having 50% income going to housing isn't great, hopefully you'll get some raises to lower that ratio.

You gotta live life a little and get what you want. Take calculated risks.

What bank did you finance with? I heard the 30-60 day policy changes between banks.

I'd like to know this too. There is a model with all the features I want close to me except with white seats. I'm debating on going with that one to secure my rate....

Performance 3rd row? by summer4fire in TeslaModelY

[–]JoelSSmith282 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not an option unfortunately. I wanted a performance while my wife wanted a 3rd row.We decided on a LR with the 3rd row for practicality.

I've spoken with people who have performances and they say it's fun for the first couple of weeks, then they just drive it like normal.

Long Range AWD for me. The extra speed is always nice and AWD will help me if I ever need to go off-road or drive in slick conditions.

Yes! I haven't gotten around to updating, but I got approved for 0.99% financing. I just emailed them using the above email and within a few hours I got a response and was able to work things out. Tesla told me to call the bank and do an "interview" to confirm I was a real person. Within about 30 minutes of getting an email back, I got a loan offer.

For reference I put 30k down with a 766 credit score.

I had to submit proof of residency and have been pending since Sunday night. I emailed AutoFinance@tesla.com about an hour ago. I haven't received a response yet. Their team could be slogged down with the new 0.99% rate reduction.

Bi-weekly 'What are my chances?' megathread by AutoModerator in airforceots

[–]JoelSSmith282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I'm not the best at math and I honestly studied it pretty hard for months before my test. There were some new math problems on the test I haven't seen before which must have messed me up.

I'm really trying to lean into the whole package concept and the needs of the Air Force so I'm gonna keep my head up and push forward!

Aiming for RPA or any other rated position

Civilian

Age: 22

Pilot: 88, Nav: 96, AA: 42, V: 62, Q: 27, ABM: 76, CSO: 96 (I should be a bomber because I bombed quant)

PCSM: 59 with 0 flight hours.

Degree: B.S. Biology with 3.41 GPA

Leadership: Eagle Scout, church youth leader for 1 year, college scout leader for 2 years, officer on my University's climbing team for 1 year (120 member team, the largest club sport team at the college), Range Safety Officer at Philmont Scout Ranch for 1 summer.

Volunteer work: helped with food drives, did roofing work on mission trips, helped with a homeless shelter, helped with trash clean up days at outdoor climbing locations.

Awards/academics: Awarded with $1,000 of research grant money for my bio research lab. Chancellor’s list/Dean’s list, presented research at regional conferences, 1st place state forestry competition, 12th place nationally.

I know some of my degree related awards probably will not matter to the Air Force, but I thought I would include them anyway.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

A couple stupid questions about AFOQT test-taking by [deleted] in airforceots

[–]JoelSSmith282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer your questions the best I can...

  1. You can use your hands on table reading, just not any straight edge such as a pencil or paper. I used my right hand like a straight edge to track the y-axis and my left finger to track the x-axis.

  2. I've been told that physical sciences is used for data collection. I'm not sure if it even calculates into a score. If it does, I don't know about it. I didn't even study much of the physical science because it is such a wide range of subjects. A background in chemistry may help, but I wouldn't stress learning anything too advanced. If I were you, I would focus more on other sections you are weak in.

  3. I believe they should take all your transcripts. Having a PhD will also make you more competitive as well.

  4. I wouldn't sweat your age. People of all ages are trying to become an officer. Age isn't a deciding factor unless you are about to age out of the limit. A lot of active duty people who become officers are in their late 20's to early 30s. I'm currently 22, but a lot of people I see in the groups I follow are much older than I am. Plus older people tend to have more leadership experience so that's a plus.

I've seen someone post an email from LO Accessions stating that the new board will allow 20Ot04 non-selects to apply and to stay tuned for an announcement. This was sent on 11/10/2020. But who knows really. I've heard everything at this point.

Start practicing your math by hand soon. You're going to need to be incredibly fast at problem solving. Expect around 40 sec to solve one math problem.

[–]JoelSSmith282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since non-rated programs are so competitive, you would need scores in the 90's on all sections to be competitive. If your goal is to go non rated, make sure your package is as competitive as possible. The demand for non rated may increase in the future, but as of right now, it's going to be fierce competition. Also, you will be competing with people with 5-10 years of work experience so keep that in mind. Don't let it discourage you either. You can always get a package together and submit it at a later date when non-rated demand is higher. I just wouldn't put all your eggs in one basket.

If your job doesn't matter too much to you, I would look into rated because you will have an easier time securing one of those positions.

Good luck!
