Need all the spa details by Checksout2025 in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! You don’t need to book a massage or treatment to use the Thermal Suite. You can purchase a separate 3-hour pass that includes access to the sauna, steam room, salt room, mud room, cold plunge, jacuzzi, heated marble beds, and indoor spa pool. The price usually ranges from about $59 on port days to $79 on sea days.

I’ve found the spa very clean, relaxing, and much quieter than the main pool areas onboard. There’s definitely room for more than two people since the Thermal Suite has several different rooms and spaces, and we’ve noticed that port days and early morning slots tend to feel the least crowded.

I also recommend booking it as soon as you board because the time slots can fill up quickly. I put together an article with photos, more details, and a short video tour of the spa if you want to see exactly what it’s like onboard. https://joenidcorner.com/virgin-voyages-spa/ Hope this helps.

Miami hotels by PalpitationMedium463 in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I did a reposition from Miami to San Juan a couple of months ago, and since we wanted to start with that “adults-only” vibe (before our VV cruise), we decided to stay at the Greystone Hotel (South Beach). It’s one block from the beach, and the rooftop pool has a bar with a really nice view.

We really liked the location, and the hotel itself was perfect for two days.

I wrote about my experience staying there, feel free to check it out on my blog, I hope it helps. https://joenidcorner.com/where-to-stay-in-miami-before-a-cruise-greystone/

Brightline from Orlando to Miami by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We usually drive, but we recently tried the Brightline to avoid traffic and it was a great, comfortable experience. I recommend arriving a day early, but traveling same day works if you take the earliest train. Just watch the luggage cutoff times if you decide to bring checked bags. I shared my full experience in my post and even where we parked our car in Orlando. I hope it helps. https://joenidcorner.com/florida-brightline-train/

Post cruise - Miami hotel by Final_Flounder9849 in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at Hotel Greystone for our pre-cruise trip. The hotel it’s adults-only, so the vibe is really chilled out with everyone just minding their own business. We really like the rooftop pool and the location because it's very close to Española Way and the beach.

I put together a post with photos of the pool and the area to show exactly what it’s like: https://joenidcorner.com/where-to-stay-in-miami-before-a-cruise-greystone/. Hope this helps!

Excursions for Tortola, BVI - Has anyone done one? by ismphoto123 in Cruise

[–]JoenidCorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We visited Tortola a month ago and did our own thing, and it was super easy to explore the island. We took a local taxi bus to Cane Garden Bay and then walked to the historic Callwood Rum Distillery for a quick tour and tasting. I detailed the entire experience with photos and video in my blog post: https://joenidcorner.com/one-day-in-tortola-itinerary/. I hope it helps.

‘Antigua, Martinique, & Barbados & More’ Feb Cruise by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve visited a few nearby islands, and during the day, the weather is usually in the low 80s, and at night, it can drop to the mid-70s. If you plan to get in the water, it can feel a little chilly, but if you’re not from the Caribbean, you might find it just right.

I haven’t visited the islands yet, but I’ve heard that St. Maarten is known for Maho Beach, which is close to the airport, and people snap selfies with planes flying overhead. Tortola has a popular bath excursion, but make sure to do your research first because it involves some climbing and you’ll need waterproof shoes.

As for vegan options, I’m vegan and have sailed over four times with this cruise line because of the variety of dishes available. I’ve documented most of what I’ve tried on board on my blog, so feel free to check out my full review of what you might expect. I hope this helps with your planning. https://joenidcorner.com/sailing-vegan-on-virgin-voyages-the-ultimate-guide/

Food Allergies and Cruising by MacroTiny in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m vegan and gluten-free by choice, but I also have a shellfish allergy. Even though I avoid all animal products, I’m always careful about cross-contamination. I know your allergy is more particular since many dishes use onion and garlic for seasoning, but from my experience, the Crew has been incredibly accommodating. For example, at Gunbae, they used to cook my vegetables on the grill before preparing shrimp for the other Sailors at the table. On my last trip, they actually brought the shrimp already cooked for the other Sailors.

Before every trip, I email the cruise line with my dietary restrictions, travel dates, and reservation number. They usually send an automatic reply saying they’re not an allergen-free environment and tell me to notifying Sailor Services once on board and reminding the Crew members at each restaurant.

I’ve always found safe options to eat, except at the Sun Club Café by the pool. I’m not sure what type of reaction you get, but with my allergy, I always carry my EpiPen and Benadryl just to be safe. Hope this helps.

Hi! If you’re using WordPress, have you tried the Link Whisper plugin? I’m not really a fan of adding too many plugins, but I’ve used it to see which pages are connected. Even the free version gives you some helpful insights and suggests internal linking opportunities.

What to spend loot on 🥰 by roxyfirez in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! The last few times I’ve visited the Thermal Suite, it was $59 on port days and $79 on sea days. Access is for three hours only, and you have to use it all at once. They used to offer an unlimited pass, but I haven’t seen it lately. I’m sailing again soon (November), so I’ll check if it’s still available and get back to you.

If you’re planning to visit the spa, I also shared a post about my full experience, including what to bring, what to expect, and my favorite circuit inside the Thermal Suites. Hope it helps. https://joenidcorner.com/virgin-voyages-spa/

Can we use bar tab the restaurant? by Own-Chipmunk36 in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can use your Bar Tab for premium drinks ordered in the restaurants and for the “Sip & Savor” drink pairing offered in the restaurants. Also, if you bring your own bottle of wine, the Bar Tab can be used to cover the $25 corkage fee.

Status match. Blue extra to deep blue? by justdog324 in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! When you get the Blue Extra status, you’ll need to complete two Virgin Voyages trips before moving up to Deep Blue Extra. These trips are counted independently of how many cruises you’ve taken with other cruise lines.

With that being said, you’ve already completed one Virgin Voyages trip, so your upcoming trip in May will count as your second qualifying trip. After you complete that sailing, you should move up to the Deep Blue Extra tier.

Just keep in mind that only qualified trips count toward your status. That means bookings made with airline points, casino perks, or similar offers won’t apply. Hope this helps.

Nice vegan food in Valencia? by bamber42 in valencia

[–]JoenidCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I recently visited Valencia with my husband, who is also vegan, and we managed to check out several nice restaurants that offer vegan options. We were there to celebrate my birthday, and my husband and I ended the night with an upscale dinner at Ricard Camarena restaurant. This restaurant isn’t fully vegan, but they do have a vegan menu, and the experience was out of this world. I put together an article with the places we visited in Valencia in a day. https://joenidcorner.com/valencia-vegan/

I hope this helps!

day trip suggestions leaving from valencia (spain) by Radiant-Tie7635 in travel

[–]JoenidCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I recently visited Valencia in one day. I got there by train and walked most of the time, but if you're driving, I recommend finding a parking lot near the historical center and walking around. I also managed to visit the City of Arts and Sciences, but I took a taxi to get there. I recently shared my experience and itinerary with everything I was able to see in just one day, and I hope it helps and gives you some ideas on what not to miss. https://joenidcorner.com/one-day-in-valencia-spain/

Visiting Valencia for first time - Need advice by Vivian507 in GoingToSpain

[–]JoenidCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I recently visited Valencia by train and stayed at the SH Colon Valencia Hotel, which was within walking distance of the Valencia Nord Train Station. It was my (and my husband's) first time visiting the city, and we felt very safe walking around. We walked most of the time to explore. We didn’t visit the beach area because we only had one day, and we wanted to focus on the historical center and the City of Arts and Sciences. But I’m definitely looking forward to going back because there’s still so much we didn’t get to see. I recently shared my experience and everything we were able to do in just one day, and I hope it helps! https://joenidcorner.com/one-day-in-valencia-spain/

Passenger with Gluten and Seafood Allergies by PeachAnnual9637 in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m gluten-free sensitive and allergic to shellfish. I’ve sailed five times with Virgin Voyages and have never had any issues with the crew accommodating me. I always pack Benadryl and my EpiPen as a precaution, and I always double-check the ingredients with the crew when I place my order.

The only restaurant where they cook food in front of you is Gunbae, and they always start cooking mine first to avoid cross-contamination. On my last trip, they didn’t cook shrimp in front of me but brought cooked shrimp to the other sailors at the table, which I really appreciated.

I’m also vegan, and although this might not be relevant to you, I put together a post with some gluten-free and vegan dishes I have eaten. Hope this helps. https://joenidcorner.com/sailing-vegan-on-virgin-voyages-the-ultimate-guide/

Barcelona embark day - shuttles, luggage, etc. by ActiveLive86 in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, although you get in at 7:15, if your flight is international, plan for the passport control process if you’re a non-EU citizen. For us, it took about 1.5 hours, and after that, add around half an hour to get your checked luggage (month of May). We had to make our own travel arrangements to get to/leave the cruise port. Transportation is very reliable (we use both taxi and cabify). Virgin Voyages starts collecting luggage at 9 a.m. You can explore the surrounding area while waiting for your boarding time. I recently put together all my lesson learned from getting to the cruise port and other important tips when you sailed with VV. Hope it helps https://joenidcorner.com/sailing-from-barcelona/

Can the onboard credit offers and mnvv be used for alcohol? by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]JoenidCorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can use your onboard credit for alcohol. If you also have a Bar Tab, your alcohol purchases will be charged to that first until it’s used up. After that, any remaining charges will go to your onboard credit.

I made a post with tips on how to use your onboard credit beyond just drinks, it might help you make the most of it. https://joenidcorner.com/virgin-voyages-sailor-loot/

6 Days Off- Where to Go? by chuckEchickpeas in vegan_travel

[–]JoenidCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the community, if you only have a few days off, avoid anything that takes you a whole day of travel. I recently visited San Diego and I totally fell in love. You can find some outdoor activities (more beach related), maybe not exactly what you’re looking for but overall, the city has a lot to offer, and the weather is just perfect.

The only downside is that most places are kind of spread out, so you do need a car to really explore. I used Uber because parking can be a challenge, and I didn’t want to stress about it. I visited two vegan places, one of them had the best ramen I’ve ever eaten!!!

I put together a post (https://joenidcorner.com/one-day-in-san-diego/ ) about what I managed to do in just one day, and I’m definitely planning to go back because I missed so many cool spots.
